Thank you, Ludwig. I'd never heard these alternate SG recordings (a 10-minute "When The Whip Comes Down"!). This is a great preview of the "punky" sound that MJ was taking the band in for the '78 tour.

One observation: I didn't realize that "Respectable" was purely a Mick song. The band was entering a new stage in their development, with Mr. Jagger becoming THE dominant character in the songwriting.

I think that was the case from 1973-1979
