As usual - a great post!

Unfortunately, some tracks have a very noticable 'pop' noise at their beginnings, these are:

108 2120 South Michigan Avenue
123 Mercy Mercy
125 (I Can't Get No) Satisfaction
126 The Spider And The Fly

Is there anything you can do about it? Are these 'pops' on your original CD or did something go wrong during the mp3 transfer?

Thanks a lot, Vancouver! But those pops (just one loud pop at the start of each song) don't sound like vinyl noise. It sounds like something went wrong during the transfer from from CD to mp3. I don't know. Only Edmund knows if these pops are also on his CD.

I could be wrong but i think this was up on dime a few months ago. I downloaded it twice and those loud pops were present on those copies. I agree I think it may have been from the transfer to flac/mp3. I somehow doublt SM would release a title with such a noticable issue. (But then again I recall the 1st couple of runs of Women Wine and Song had issues). Best suggestion is to look for someone who has an original and compare notes.

Since I couldn't get a resolution to the pop issues I deleted my files.

Great work! Thanks a lot! 108, 125 and 126 are perfect now, on Mercy Mercy the pop is still audible, but a little less disturbing.
