Some were completely live, others were live vocals over pre-recorded backing tracks (unlike their earlier & later Shindig appearances, which were all filmed in the U.K. & were all mimed).
Incidentally they also did a short (but live) version of 'Down The Road Apiece' as part of this appearance.
I haven't studied them closely, but I always assumed that 'Down The Road Apiece' & (possibly) 'The Last Time' were totally live, as is the Howlin' Wolf song.
Some artists definately played completely live on Shindig: for example Jerry Lee Lewis appeared on the show 5 times during 1964-1965 (performing a total of 18 songs) & these are without a doubt live.

They are miming to pre recorded backing tracks, mick's vocals are live though. Note that they aren't the studio versions, so they must have recorded them especially for the show.
Tell tale signs are, what they are playing no their guitars doesn't match what is heard, no mics on the drums, no mic on keith's aoustic etc.

There's no mics on the drums(there would atleast have to be one mic!?), Charlie is picking up his sticks when the musics already started on 'down the road' and also, you hear an acoustic in the last time, but there's no one playing an acoustic.
