I am still looking for someone who could be kind enough to post the tracks from the SG 8-track that were only available on this format.

You can buy the 8 tracks on ebay any old time....I have it, but no way to transfer it to digital.

I once tried to upload it on Yousendit and post it here on request but it didn't work because of the size of the files.

As long as you people are satisfied with MP3-format I think I can help (in case I can find again the CDr with the tracks on it;-)

These tracks are not officially available.
Maybe Gazza could tell us what he thinks about posting them on RO.

No one can buy these songs since 1978, and probably less than 1% of the people who bought these 8-tracks are still able to play them...

You know the rules on Dime - no way to torrent OOP over there...:-)

If it's ok with Gazza it's ok for me as well.

As my next upload for Dime is already prepared and as I plan to start it as soon as I'm home from office I offer you the following:

- MP3s here for a first taste in the afternoon

- and flac-format (again, if it's ok with Gazza) on RO on Friday or Saturday

If I have problems to find the CD-set or in posting the MP3s on yousendit I'll post here again - if everything's ok you'll find the links here soon.

btw - I'm not too sure if I have Far Away Eyes but maybe I only forgot about it..

I will post the 8 track cover when I get home from work....I cant believe you hard cores dont have an 8 track player, I play mine all the time. you can get them at thrift stores for near nothing. Just play test them before you buy them...so many rare tracks on the 8 tracks....

Most all of the 70s 8 tracks have unique versions of things....

yeah, and then I wake up and try to get one in Europe - impossible isn't a word. I asked more than one seller on Ebay if they'd send it over to here but no chance :-( and that apart from the fact that you're using this funny 110V in the States - but ok, that's a problem not too hard to handle...

I never learned how to paste a pic in here but I have a tape with exactly the same cardboard-sleeve and the order number 7807 - as your 8track.

Now I'm waiting for everybody's going to bed and than I'll give it my first listen in decades - would be too funny if it has the same versions as yours...

i'm surprised that the 8tracks didn't have the original celebrity faces.
or was the celeb faces exclusively used with the die-cut record album (jacket)?

obviously i would not expect the die-cut for the 8track but a flat version with same images would seem logical...right?

MAYBE THE 8 TRACK WAS RELEASED A FEW WEEKS OR MONTHS LATER...
