i can't get that last one to unzip, and it's the one i'm most interested in.
is it for sure the 1964 Paris L'Olympia?? the audio from this show was broadcast on the radio, i know,
but this is the first i've heard of any video footage from it being in circulation.

I can't get any of them to unzip\unrar. I am using winrar 3.51. Are you using a different version to compress the files ?

Howdy, the setlist look a lot like the Hollywood set from November 1964, if it really is Paris, I'll download too. I'd be interested in what you find out, please.

Hi!

I can't give you any information on that. That this clip should be an Olympia-Gig is what the original file name says. I downloaded this one 3-4 years ago somewhere on the net. So I guess you have to investigate a little bit...

Hello!

I used WinZip 10.0 and WinRar 3.61 to compress the files

smile: it's hard to investigate it when i can't unzip it to see what it is,
but the investigation i've done so far indicates that there is no footage around from the 1964 L'Olympia gig.
they did that beautifully absurd playback set for French television in october 64 -
the one where they have toy guitars - but they did Carol, Mona and It's All Over Now for that one.
the numbers you've got listed here could be from the TAMI show, but ... ???

For everyone who has problems to uncompress the video files I suggest to use WinZip: [winzip.com].
At least this is the program with which I have compressed the *.zip files.

For German users: [www.winzip.de]

I really do not know how other compress/uncompress programs are working with those files.

If a file should be corrupt, then please post which one it is. I'm going to repost it as soon as possible.

ahh, i just now saw your post, Erik! yeah, you and i are both thinking of the TAMI show, right? from nzentgraf.de:

1964 29th October: Santa Monica, California, Civic Auditorium, 'TAMI Awards Show'
- Around And Around (Chuck Berry)
- Off The Hook (MJ/KR)
- Time Is On My Side (Jerry Ragavoy)
- It's All Over Now (Bobby and Shirley Womack)
- I'm Alright (Ellas McDaniel)
- Get Together (Closing Jam)

have you coaxed it to unzip - is that indeed what it is?

okay ... i downloaded/installed a brand new version of winzip and finally got the 97 Fashion Awards Show to unzip
(much more slowly than i consider normal) but then the media player said it "encountered an unknown problem" and refused to play it.

Do you have Ain't Too Proud To Beg? Thanks

I like big drums. Drum shops generally don't have old stuff. To me, the second-hand stuff is part of the fun of drums. That natural kit that I use-that's an early Gretsch kit with the round logo on it.

I was at 80% when I lost the web-connection for a brief moment. So I'm not trying to downlaod it again (unless it is Paris 1964).
BTW, that's correct, it was late October 1964, not November as I said....the TAMI show, which I'll bet it turns out to be.

Re: POST: Rolling Stones Videos (Part I)

>> late October 1964 <<

yeah, october 29th (nzentgraf has the taping on the 28th, but most people see the TAMI gig as a full-fledged performance,
not playback, so ... it's a mystery.)
anyway i finally managed to unzip it, but again the media player told me it "encountered an unknown problem" and wouldn't play it.

if anyone gets it open and can tell us what it is i'd be very grateful.
a couple of telltale features of the TAMI show:
~ the set was quite spacious-looking and austere - no curtains or frufru;
~ Mick takes his maracas on a very hot slow stroll along a catwalk sort of thing during I'm Alright;
~ Keith gets some good camera in Off the Hook, and appears to be feeling his oats. :E

aha and if anyone can identify the true nature of the "1973 Let It Rock" i'd also be grateful -
is it the 71 Marquee rendition? the 78 Fort Worth version? or ... ?

Then you should "pimp" your Media Player a bit with a codec bundle.

This will help: [www.divx.com]

Aaah, a kind of thriller is going on here...see who finds out.

thanks Ludwig - i'm not going to install any more stuff to watch these,
(especially since i've already spent several hours downloading two of them and trying to get them to play).
the fact that it took each of them like 20 minutes to unzip seems completely abnormal to me, but ...
okay, if you're sure it's my equipment at fault ... i hope someone else can enjoy them,
since it was a nice effort on your part to upload them for people.

as for Let It Rock: if you tell me what Keith's wearing in it and what guitar he's got,
i'll tell you if it's Marquee 71 or Ft Worth 78.

You better should. Because with this codecs you can increase the various types of videos you can watch with the Media Player (the player without additional codecs is a very primitive tool).

Oh, it took me DAYS to upload them

No, that's ok. It took me half an hour to zip 650 MB. So unzipping them in about 20 Minutes is not unusual.

a long white shirt, can't recognize the guitar clearly because it's a rather poor copy

>> a long white shirt <<

unbuttoned? and Mick's got a sparkly little vest? Marquee 71.
the guitar would be the plexiglass Dan Armstrong, which is part of why it's hard to see :E

found a screenshot from the TAMI show, in case it helps identify that 1964 clip -
if memory serves, this shot is during Off the Hook:
