Just in case you're interested, The Palais Theatre, St Kilda, Melbourne, is still going strong as a venue. It's one of those older style theatres from the 20's. A good history of the area & theatre is here

I saw The Cowboy Junkies there a couple of years back & 20 or so years ago I saw a ballet there when who should show up but good Queen Lizzie herself. The ABB cd launch was held only about 2k. from there last year.
