The problem is of course to find some people you can absolutely trust.......

Difficult, true, but if I lowered the standard to "absolutely trust" to "adequately trust" I could name people from this forum alone just based on the kind of posts they make.

Let me try to explain how I would do it.

People who have something they can't share (yet), send their goodies to the couple of "trustees".

The trustees store the material on a (external) HD and make a document (excel sheet or whatever).

In this document they put all the necessary information;
description of the item
owner (+ contact information, both e-mail and phone).

The document remains confidential, so even a contributor will not know what someone else has contributed.

The contributor stays the sole owner of his material and only he can give the authorization to release something.

The "trustees" will regularly compare their documents to make sure all material is duplicated, so nothing would get lost in case of a crash or whatever.

Just thinking aloud smoking smiley

Let me cheer you up a bit : grinning smiley
high-level collectors (Stones or others) consider average/mormal collectors as parasites and people one should best avoid. So they would be hard-pressed to share their goodies with "anybodies".
So rare stuff stays within the hands of a few "good men" until one day accidents happen and the music circulates.

And the best way the good stuff remains in the right hands is to make sure nobody knows it even exists. You can't covete what you don't even know exists.

This and JMARKO'S posts are exactly right...why tell you what is available that the average person may never see/hear? If they were to tell any real Stones fan that person would lose sleep, lose their appetite, it could shorten their lives...smiling smiley

Good point. Just think if we knew those Steel Wheels out-takes existed and never had a chance to hear them. Surely there is lots of music we will not be able to know. Personally I don't need anybody to rub it in.

Let me make one thing clear; I'm NOT interested in becoming a "trustee"!!!
I would be scared day and night that someone else would also have some of the material and publish it and people would think that I leaked it...

I just gave my view of how something could be done.

But thanks for the vote of confidence by some in this thread smileys with beer

Hate to be 'that guy', but where's bkeys been? He's only made about four posts and was last seen here two months ago... I'm starting to feel like we're being teased...

It'll show. In due time. Patience please.

Now, >2 years later I would like to ask again: When is due time? How much patience is still needed?

Dead end. The project was silenced...

It's been a while indeed since bkeys was around : [iorr.org]

We waited 9 years between the SW sessions and Foxes in the Boxes, we can wait a bit longer for...dunno, the B2B sessions !
