1972/06/23 Dallas Rehearsals ® Remastered by Teague Raw

Here's something to occupy your weekend: the remastering sessions Dallas 1972 !
This recording is a bit boring, it must be said. But it is always interesting to slip into the intimacy of a group when he's not making the show.
I chose to work from the bootleg 'Condor Records Worldwide (DR 295 & DR 395) - copy of' Touring Party (Scorpio) which seemed the most correct source.
But this version had some nasty parasites from DAT copy (who they are highly visible on first tracks).
So I replaced the bad passages by extracts from Dallas Rehearsals (Black & white cover).
The other previous default for indexing tracks often risky, so I corrected the base of the slopes, leaving the passages of tuning at the end of songs.
Short aborted departures are related, versions 'accomplished' remain separate.
I have also reduces background noise for chaining of songs without music.
All the rest of my statements concerning the clarity and vibrancy of all, for that listening is better than what we heard so far.

Good listening my friends!

I would hope that if one can actually endure listening to this rehearsal in toto w/o touching ONE pharmaceutical, one will begin to comprehend why musicians use mind altering substances (as well as whopping doses of speed). "Abject Tedium" is what I would entitle any recording of any band's rehearsals. I was lead singer in a band in 1984 & whilst the musicians would work out arrangements I'd sit on the floor & leaf through magazines. I'd get up & do my (sensational) vocals & then sit down again.

Oh, yes... & did I have the "lead singer ego" complex? You bet I did!! We were working through a cover of "Back In the U.S.S.R." when the (brilliant) lead guitarist asked me to do the airplane whistling noise at the very beginning of the tune. With a look that could have killed & a tone in my voice that could have frozen a feather I replied sotto voce, "I SING, Steve. I DON'T do airplanes." Whoo! DOUBLE SNAP!

Chris, have you been able to repair the SBEs on all tracks?

SBE, what do you mean by that (never to old to learn, lol!)????

These are the files I burned to CDr. (the original files were already deleted on my HD). I used EAC to rip the CDr's and then Traders Little Helper to convert the .wav files to Flac.

The SBE (sector boundary errors) make it impossible to decode properly to WAV and then re encode to FLAC without multiple tiny errors.

I have downloaded this from torrent sites and from WeTransfer. All have the same SBE errors and fingerprint problems.

I'll check yours out because you took the extra step of burning and re-ripping, but I suspect they are there.

Thanks for the time you spent

While ripping with EAC, only track 01 from CD 01 gave a couple of tiny errors.
What software do you use to check for eventual SBE's?

Trader's Little Helper has a tick-box to fix SBEs as its re encoding. Unfortunately it just couldn't work with this one.

The previous Teague ups also had them, but not nearly as misaligned or truncated as this one and TLH was able to repair them... Don't know why, but still really appreciate all the hard work.

THis was the result for disc one after analyzing the wav files:
