Hi The Don...........please excuse my ignorance but what is the deal with AVI ? - do I have to do something to the file to burn it to DVD ?

I met a woman and she told me...."well baby...... well the blues ain't bad"...........

An AVI file is just another video format good to view on a computer with programs such as Windows Media Player, VLC, and etc.

TO burn to a dvd disc you would have to convert this AVI to vob format and then add ifo and bup files into a folder VIDEO_TS and only then it can be played on a home DVD player.

Thanks The Don....but how do I convert it and those IFO & BUP files.....I've seen those in other DVDs I've downloaded but how do I make those or get them to add to a VIDEO_TS folder ?

Sorry EddieByword, I am not a pro at this. I know there is several programs that can convert and do ifo and bup files too.

I had done one a long time ago but after retrying it again earlier tonight and wasting 3 hours it did not work out.

Maybe someone else on this board can help.

DVD Flick is an easy and free program that will convert your avi files to dvd (.ISO, .BUP and .Vob files). All you need is a program to burn the resulting VIDEO_TS file to DVDr.
I use DVD Flick in combination with IMGBurn.

A friend of mine created a DVD version out of the avi-file that THE DON uploaded some days ago. Many thanks to both of them.

It has a menu with chapter selection but the chapters don' t fit exactly.
