An AVI file is just another video format good to view on a computer with programs such as Windows Media Player, VLC, and etc.
TO burn to a dvd disc you would have to convert this AVI to vob format and then add ifo and bup files into a folder VIDEO_TS and only then it can be played on a home DVD player.

Sorry EddieByword, I am not a pro at this. I know there is several programs that can convert and do ifo and bup files too.
I had done one a long time ago but after retrying it again earlier tonight and wasting 3 hours it did not work out.
Maybe someone else on this board can help.
