Eric Clapton
1975.06.23 Convention Centre, Niagra Falls, NY [DSP Mix]
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------
***sourced from mp3@256kbs files***
**no reason to re-encode the remixed waves back down to lossy source, so these files are in FLAC**
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Disc 1:
1) Layla
2) Bell Bottom Blues
3) Key to the Highway
4) Motherless Children
5) Driftin' Blues
6) I Shot the Sheriff
7) Can't Find My Way Home
8) Mainline Florida

Disc 2:
1) Teach Me to Be Your Woman
2) Tell the Truth
3) Badge
4) Eyesight to the Blind

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

- Remixed with Presonus Studio One + iZotope Ozone 5 Adavanced.
- The levels were matched in Presonus, although there are still instances were a right/left panning effect occurs as the taper was adjusting levels during the recording process (listen to " I Shot The Sherrif" for a good example) or where the taper had the levels up too high like the beginning of "Eyesight To The Blind". I didn't bother sifting through and trying to fix these things, mainly because this source was only mp3@256kbs.
- Each tuneup that took place before a track began was moved to the preceding track.
- This mix has a strong digital "intelligent" or dynamic limiter; it also has some dynamic compression (4-bands) and a moderate amount of EQ applied to boost the guitar and drums.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The source was an above-avaerage stereo audience tape. It wasn't a consistent recording and that presented unique problems for generating a remix. If the source was lossless, I'd have spent more time with it. I did tryout a few things before generating this mix, which (I hope) is preferable to the mp3 bootleg source from which it came.

enjoy!

Just a heads-up: you might find that despite the Beano covers the (MP3) recording you downloaded and worked on IS the EC Compilations release Jamming With Carlos!

So the "Jammin' With Carlos" release is MP3 sourced?

No, but The Clock That Went Backwards page Greg44 referenced displays the Beano "Niagara Falls 1974" release covers with a link to a filefactory RAR. If that's the RAR you used, you'll find it too contains the Beano covers but the info file is for EC Compilations' "Jamming With Carlos", and the audio files are MP3 versions of that release.

"Jamming With Carlos" is itself available uncompressed, and if you used tjkrol's link to Hunger City that's what you'll get.

So I was just trying to alert you that your DSP clean up was likely based on a compressed version of the same release you're planning to work on.

Sorry for any confusion.

Cheers,
Richard

I live minutes from Niagara Falls. I don't even remember Clapton playing there in 75. He kind of fell from grace here after a really drunken attempt at a show at a stadium a couple of years earlier.

Laughingsam, will attempt a DSP mix on the lossless files?
