Johnnie Walker looks at the early days of Atlantic Records and how the company was set up. Atlantic Records was home to some of the greatest soul singers of all time including Otis Redding and Ray Charles and also home to Led Zepplin. It's songwriting team of Leiber and Stoler and Jerry Wexler also carved their careers at Atlantic which was all supervised under the watchful guidance of Ahmet Ertegun. We hear from Ertegun about his love of black music, moving to America with his father and how he started what was to become and global business.

Thank you very much, this might be a nice update for my knowledge on Atlantic Records.
Last time I occupied myself with this stuff was forty years ago, when I read Charlie Gillett's book "The Sound of the City"!

It seems that SO1E08 and SO1E09 are the same, both contain the "English Connection", no "Blues Power"!sad smiley
