Thank you very much, Keessie, for posting, I looked for this show long time. From this show is the official live Beast of Burden '81. Thus I can compare what they've done on this track before releasing it.

Wow, what a fabulous show. I still remember listening to WLS that night as Tommy Edwards reported live with a wireless mike from audience in the midst of the crowd at the Rosemont Horizon. What a cool broadcast! (I remember he described Mick as wearing "crazy leg warmers"--which were actually his football pants with long socks...)

Third night of three in Chicago (the 4th if you count the south-side Muddy Waters night on the 22nd!). And the best show of the bunch. In fact, I still have the 3+ hours of coverage on an old cassette right here next to me...It's amazing to hear the excitement in the DJ's voices, as they knew this was the PREMIER rock band in the world, in their town, that night!

Great memories!

Okay, I'm biased because of my sentimental connection to this show...but if this complete show surfaced in soundboard quality it would be regarded as an essential. This is a fabulous show. Satisfaction alone makes you really WANT to be in the crowd for this one. The rest of the tunes are great as well. And with Beast of Burden and SMU (on the otherwise stillborn Still Life album) taken from this show for the official releases confirms that at least a few others thought this was a show for posterity as well. This audience tape captures some of that hard to define/describe/capture magic of the 1981 tour, which was all over the map, I concede. But this was a good night.
