I'd love to hear your versions of both those shows. I have the "They'll Stone You In Rio" [Morph-02s], but it's the 192kbs version that rolledgold posted last year. And the Paris '70 show I remastered already, but it seems to me you get better results with your Harman & Kardon analog equalizer than I do with the digital equalizing. So if you already have or plan to remaster Paris, I can do the final mastering.

1972 Philly-Fort Worth [DSP Mix]
sourced from TSP-CD-50-2 (*) see note below
FLAC FORMAT

01 Brown Sugar (1972.07.21 1st)
02 Bitch (1972.07.21 1st)
03 Rocks Off (1972.07.21 1st)
04 Gimme Shelter (1972.07.21 1st)
05 Happy (1972.07.21 1st)
06 Tumbling Dice (1972.06.24 1st)
07 Love In Vain (1972.06.24 1st)
08 Sweet Virginia (1972.06.24 1st)
09 You Can't Always Get What You Want (1972.07.21 1st)
10 All Down The Line (1972.07.21 1st)
11 Midnight Rambler (1972.06.24 2nd)
12 Bye Bye Johnny (1972.07.21 2nd)
13 Rip This Joint (1972.06.24 1st)
14 Jumping Jack Flash (1972.06.24 1st)
15 Street Fighting Man (1972.06.24 1st)
16 Don't Lie To Me (1972.06.24 2nd)

* I think this is a single-disc remaster of "Philadelphia Special" [TSP-CD-50-2] I did back in 2009. I probably cut out "Uptight-Satisfaction" to fit it on a single cd. It's saved in FLAC format on my HD, which was not something I did too often back then. I also put the source of each song in parenthesis after the title, which I'm trusting is accurate but if anyone notices an error let me know. I wish I had more info or a better recollection of remastering this, but I'm just sharing it here because I love the way it sounds. This has been my go-to cd for the '72 tour for a while.

I made artwork especially for this upload, which might end up having incorrect dates like all the Stones bootlegs :-)

Hi-resolution artwork here -> 1972 Philly-Fort Worth art

enjoy!

1970.09.23 Palais des Sports, Paris, FRA [DSP Remaster]
sourced from "European Tour 1970" (MORPH-60)
FLAC FORMAT

01 Jumping Jack Flash
02 Roll Over Beethoven
03 Sympathy For The Devil
04 Stray Cat Blues
05 Love In Vain
06 Dead Flowers
07 Midnight Rambler
08 Live With Me
09 Let It Rock
10 Little Queenie
11 Brown Sugar

MORPH-60 was issued without "Honky Tonk Women" and "Street Fighting Man", the last 2 tracks of the show.

The MORPH release had a rough mono-SBD mix. One of the things I focused on here was seperating the frequencies into 4 bands and then pushing them apart without losing the mid-range. The end result is uncorrelated right and left channels. Whether or not this provides for a better listening experience, I won't say. You decide.

I also added harmonic equalization, room ambiance, and maximized voice with the high noise on the source.

Remastered with (1) Sound Solution 1.31 (2) Izotope Ozone 4 (3) Goldwave 5.58

Roger that. I'm listening to it now. I'll give it a go on your suggestion, but I'm not sure I can improve it that much.

Note about the artwork I'm posting on here. I don't actually print it out and use it to label my CDs...I don't even have a color printer anymore. So for those of you that plan to actually print it, you might have to play with the aspect ratio in say, Windows Paint or some equivalent program or with your CD labeling software.

Great work again Laughingsam. The whole Fort Worth 24/6/72 2nd show would be a good one to work on. It has a muddy dull sound which I believe you can improve considerably if listening to the Ft Worth tracks on your Philly work is anything to go by.

1970.09.22 Palais des Sports, Paris, FRA [DSP]
Remaster of Marko's source

01 Intro
02 Jumping Jack Flash
03 Roll Over Beethoven
04 Sympathy For The Devil
05 Stray Cat Blues
06 Love In Vain
07 Dead Flowers
08 Midnight Rambler
09 Live With Me
10 Little Queenie
11 Let It Rock
12 Brown Sugar
13 Honky Tonk Women
14 Street Fighting Man

notes:

I hesitate to post this one. The mono source had low-end distortion, which can't be removed. I thought Marko did a fine job applying EQ and this version doesn't improve on his effort. Instead of canning the project, I'll post what I came up with: Multiband imaging was used to get a "fake stereo" sound. Slight Harmonic excitation was applied. Ozone's 64-bit loudness maximizer was used to bring the volume up, but the inter-sample moniter was set to the out signal peak to avoid adding additional distortion to the already distorted source. The result is it sounds louder, but there's less dynamics (high's and lows). In short, there's not much room for improvement on sources like this one.

JIMI HENDRIX: 1970 FINAL U.S. TOUR
DSP mix of various sources
(cherry-picking the Hendrix folder)

01 Intro
02 Fire
03 Message To Love
04 Lover Man
05 Red House
06 Room Full Of Mirrors
07 Dolly Dagger
08 Villanova Junction
09 Ezy Ryder
10 Hear My Train A-Comin'
11 Johnny B. Goode
12 Stone Free
13 Star Spangled Banner
14 Straight Ahead
15 All Along The Watchtower
16 Spanish Castle Magic
17 Hey Baby -> In From The Storm
18 Freedom ->
19 Beginnings ->
20 Straight Ahead (reprise) ->
21 New Rising Sun ->
22 Midnight Lightning -> Race With The Devil
23 Machine Gun
24 Voodoo Child (slight return)

1970 Jimi! He's babbling and dedicating his performances to "the cats that have
died for a cause that is gonna happen anyway" and he's playing very LOUD.
139min of music from his final U.S. tour! Sources of the songs are labeled in the title, once you unzip the archive. The DSP mixes from these performances were done between 2004-2007.

This is something different; something (not) new; and something I'll remove once
I get that Charlotte '72 show up here.

Thanks Marko for the 2 versions of Charlotte. The source of your remaster was DAC 102 then? I'd like to find a clean tape transfer, as a point of reference while I'm mastering it.

I noticed the pitch was off on some of these other versions and am relieved to see you already corrected it on the Dime upload.

1972.07.06 Charlotte Colisuem, Charlotte, NC [DSP Remaster]

source: Watchit's torrent (JT's tape), supposedly from master tape.

01 Bitch *
02 Rocks Off
03 Gimme Shelter
04 Happy
05 Tumbling Dice
06 Love in Vain
07 Sweet Virginia
08 You Can't Always Get What You Want
09 All DOwn The Line
10 Midnight Rambler *
11 [band introductions]
12 Bye Bye Johnny
13 Rip This Joint
14 Jumping Jack Flash
15 Street Fighting Man

* patched with 6/27/72 (original tape was cut)

The original tape was missing the beginnings of "Bitch" and "Midnight Rambler".

Thanks to Eric Snow for uploading the source.

I'm uploading 2 versions of this...to keep things confusing :-)

The version marked "safety" is the original tape run through a multiband processor, with minimal changes. I uploaded it for those who believe "less is more" and those who wish to do their own edits.

The version marked "DSP Remaster" is the finished show and contains the full gamut of processing and patches for the missing portions of the tape. I used 6/27/72 "Dusting Off The Freezer" boot for the patches.

I recommend the finished "DSP" version.
