Hey Joe,

I was waiting for "I Don't Know the Reason Why" remaster. Thanks!
There is even longer version - 11'15 on I Gave You Diamonds.
Is it fake or another take?

LA Friday 1975 needs your hand. It's flat and without bass - to me.
Clearmountain probably uses such marvelous equipment & speakers that we
are hearing only a fraction of what he hears.
Once I've read in The Rolling Stone a review of Dylan's new record
where reviewer wrote that hearing for the press was hold in such
marvelous studio that even Yoko Ono would sound terrific there!
Thus good equipment actually "blurred" music which acording to him was not impressive at all.
Maybe Clearmountain has similar problem.

Greg:

I've listened to LA Friday like 5 times since Tuesday. I often make my own mix of concerts after one or two listens. I haven't touched this one because I like the overall sound. You're right -- maybe it can use a little more bass to get a pumpy sound. If I do a mix, I'll share it with you.

vancouver:

If you have any suggestions for studio tracks let me know because there's a chance I've remastered it already. I did a ton of outtakes over the last few months, since I've been compiling my "History of The Stones" project.

Thank you Joe,

Maybe my impression was caused by mp3 in which I have LA.
"Colour" of sound is OK but sounds somehow flat.

So how it is with this longer (11'15) version of "I Don't Know the Reason Why"?
Fake?

And I would love, if you found time, that you touch something of my suggestions.

Happy Easter, if you observe it.

Maybe among your already made remasters you also have
this long version of Sympathy for the Devil
from Hyde Park 1969?

Fake?

It's not fake as far as I know. It's just the same studio jam lifted off of 2 separate bootlegs and edited together. I didn't crossfade or anything, just picked up where the 1st source left off.

vancouver, I did tweak the IBC demos already for the project I've been compiling. Here's what I came up with:

IBC Demos (3-11-63)

Other than the source, "Genuine Black Box" [Scorpio] I didn't keep any notes as to what exactly was done to them. I recall stereo separation being added, phase tweaking and multi-band dynamics.

I want to share something off-topic that I'm listening to tonight.

The Jimi Hendrix Experience
1969.01.10 Falkoner Centret, Copenhagen, Denmark (early show) [DSP Mix]
source: Scandinavia Vol. 2 [Voodoo Chile Records]

1. Fire
2. Foxy Lady
3. Tax Free
4. Spanish Castle Magic
5. Red House
6. Sunshine Of Your Love
7. I Don't Live Today -->
8. Star Spangled Banner
9. Purple Haze

This is the first of 2 shows from this night. The second show has more inspired playing (IMO) but this first one had better sound quality and some magic moments -- check out "Spanish Castle Magic" and "Red House"! The guitar is dominant and the vocals are quite low. If you're familiar with the lyrics then your ears can compensate somewhat for this.

Original source boot was remixed with iZotope Ozone 5 Advanced into Waves, then encoded to Flac & shared with you.

enjoy!

Hey Joe,

Since Captain Acid keeps silent about my request, I'd like to turn your attention to excellent Clapton from Niagara Falls, June 23,1975 posted recently on The Clock That Went Backwards, link here:
Could you please make it more listenable?
I'm sure that not only you but many people find it worth your effort.
And would be grateful.
Thanks in advance

Well, since you'd rather have Captain Acid remix it, I suggest you wait for him.

I'm kidding spinning smiley sticking its tongue out I tried the link you provided and it won't let me download without purchasing a premium account. Of course I want to hear the show first, but judging by the setlist it looks worth working. Do you know if it's available anywhere else? I ain't paying for a file factory membership...I already have too many of those premium memberships.

Don't worry Joe, you know that for me you're THE only MASTER.
But I know also that you're overloaded with works and
on the other hand I was not sure if you like Clapton
about which once Acid wrote that he likes him (if I'm not wrong).
Did you try yourself to download directly from The Clock page?
Their links are normal but they tend to work humorously trying
to force people for buying premium.
Since transwer connection doesn't work between our servers (I've tried this from
both my addresses) I will ask for favour my friend from US. This Clapton is really
worth the effort but please when you'll remaster send him also the link.
Is it all right?

I hope your serveres are in tune in opposite to
mine and yours.
Let me know when you get it, via Wetransfer.com

P.S. He just has sent it to you.

I didn't get it. I'm DL it now from filefactory. It appears to be mp3 format. I do hope it's better than 192kbs if I'm going to put any effort into it.

I have a lot of Capt Acid's Clapton remasters (from Hungercity) already and they're all excellent...I was just teasing you about "rather having him" remix it.

I'm mega-surprised that you didn't get transfer from Mitch (USA).
Did you at least receive my mail sent from my private address in which I'm asking him for doing this favour (I've sent copy also to you)?
Strange things are going on with your server - previously twice (from two different addresses) I sent you transfer and you did not get neither of them whereas I'm receiving you mails sent on my gmail address.
Any censorship at your address???!!!

Clapton is at 256 as you propbably already know. For me it's a GREAT concert and how do you like it? I hope that you make it really fantastic.
Keeping fingers crossed.
Greg

I'm very glad that you shared my opinion about this Clapton's concert.

I can't figure it out either. They're not being sorted to my spam folder or anything, they're just lost in the sauce as if they were sent to the wrong address.

If I remember right this is a show that was filmed. Not sure if both shows were or only one. I had a video tape of it back in the mid 80's. It was B/W but really clear. At least by 80's standards. If it's the same show the band is really on and Jimi really plays instead of "showboating". You familier with that? I am downloading this now.
Thanks alot.
Ed

Now I have something to look for Keef1966! I have a lot of Hendrix stuff collected years ago that I haven't examined in awhile. I know about 09 Jan 1969 being filmed, but I never knew any footage existed for this show. It's unfortunate that the show from the 9th survives in a-zillion forms as a Hendrix soundboard, because the band kind of never got it together that night. But the next night with this show they played with a purpose and if there's any video of it, I'd love to try to synch it up with the merge stereo version that vancouver mentioned.

Sorry for not impressive mp3 but I could not get nothing
better. Rewarding is performance. Very.
