Interesting question about the 1970 Tour

See this question that I read in the Tell Me Section. It seems interesting to me and maybe someone here knows more about it.

Hi guys. Yes- I have it, but I'm in the unfortunate position of being clueless when it comes to uploading anything. So, all I can do is give you my opinion:
I actually bought this 'For Fans Only' release on the strength of the review posted on 'HotWacks', which said it was the best release of this show so far (& in stereo of course). Prior to this, I think the best version was definitely on disc 1 of VGP-261 (also called 'Roll Over Beethoven' just to confuse matters :-)). Listening to both 'back-to-back' the difference isn't initially all that noticable & the VGP release seems to have more bass. But, the 'FFO' release IS in stereo & it becomes much more noticable on tracks like 'Love In Vain', where the seperation is great. To cut a long story short, I think VGP probably released this tape in mono to get rid of hiss (there is a little on the new release, but not much), whereas the 'FFO' release probably just released a low generation tape 'as is'. It IS very good though. Hope that helps a little :-)

Thanks for your comments, MrsHop!

Up to now, most fans regarded another bootleg, namely "Shake Your Hips" VGP-078 as the best source for that show.
This bootleg is still available from UrbanSteel here:

I owned 'Shake Your Hips', but actually sold it recently as the version of the Berlin on 'Roll Over Beethoven'VGP-261 is MUCH better imo. Thanks for the pointer though :-)

Well, if someone could upload the FFO version sometime then it would be great!

Edit: From which show is VGP 261 'Roll Over Beethoven'? That one seems also interesting to me, so if someone can upload that one, then it would be very nice indeed!

It would be very interesting to compare the FFO version and the VGP 261.

Berlin 1970, up to "yesterday" three VGP releases:

VGP-019 Live In Berlin 1970 (1cd)
VGP-078 Shake Your Hips (2cds/disc1)
VGP-261 Roll Over Beethoven (2cds/disc1)
(Thanks to "atwiki.jp"!)

I never had access to VGP-019

VGP's "Roll over Beethoven" has Berlin and Milan first show.
