POST: This Is Rhythm and Blues! FLAC
Posted by: Deltics ()
Date: June 5, 2010 17:56

Originally recorded on March 19, 1964 and broadcast May 9.
This was a stereo test transmission by the BBC and required listeners to tune two radios to different frequencies to achieve full stereo effect!
This is a wav recording of the BBC rebroadcast on June 2 2010.

Tracks:
Intro
Night Train*
LJB (Long John Baldry)1
Bright Lights, Big City*
LJB2
Walking The Dog*
LJB3
Do Re Me*
LJB4
Let The Sun Shine In*
LJB5
You're Breaking My Heart**
LJB6
Route 66+
LJB7
Cops 'n' Robbers+
LJB8
You Better Move On+
LJB9
Mona+

* Georgie Fame and His Blue Flames
** Long John Baldry with Georgie Fame and His Blue Flames
+ The Rolling Stones

I've track-edited this so that all of the songs are complete without Baldry's outro/intro to each song (hence LBJ1-9) if you don't like what I've done, or want to do it another way, I've also included the complete, unedited soundfile as recorded.
No artwork yet!

Thank you very much, Deltics!

With the BBC link you gave here:[www.iorr.org]

I was able to record it while streaming.

I am moving and my Stones collection is already in boxes, so I cannnot compare at this moment, but on first hearing this sounds way better than what I have!

Thanks a lot!thumbs up

Great to have the complete show in this superior quality!grinning smiley

The StonesĀ“ performance is also very good here;
nice Keith lead guitar on Route 66, while Brian dominates Mona with superb guitar -
not forgetting BrianĀ“s great harmonica on Cops And Robbers.
Mick is on top form throughout...

I have listened again a couple of times, this is sure top quality, best sound of this stuff I ever heard!
And thanks both of you for the artwork!
Wonder how long it takes, until this appears on a bootleg.
If it gets a vinyl release, I might be even tempted to buy it. I am that kind of a fool!
