It's humour. A Keefalike on a heavily battered Tele.

A the end of the vid there's some footage of Keith actually playing it...

It's about Dutch guitarbuilder Jeroen Gmelich, who made a guitar for Keith and was (finally after a long story) allowed to offer the guitar to Keith who liked it very much and indeed played on it.

The footage of Keith actually playing the thing is from this year's Werchter show.

Jeroen Gmelich werkte er maanden aan; zijn gitaar voor Keith Richards. Nu is hij af en hoop de Den Heldenaar hem tijdens Pinkpop te kunnen aanbieden aan de Rolling Stone.

Yes, this is great and that's the only known footage of Derek and the Dominos live.

I remember sitting in my living room watching this when it was first broadcasted.

It is not a matter

I guess, it is not a matter of being able to play a song live or not, it is just a question if to play the song or not - take look at his version of TWFNO

If this imitation of MJ can play it, then MT should be able to play it as good or even much better.

Found this on YouTube Last night and was thrilled to have found it. If any one who actually remembers this album could give me any advice as to where I can find a copy I'd greatly appretiate it! I shared the headphones with my wife during "Love Me Like A Man" and she kept them! When the song ended she said, "I'm going to need a copy of that".

Whole Show:

Enjoy!

OT: Basketball, USA - New Zealand, The Haka Dance

Apparently there's a Basketball World Cup going on in Spain these days.
I just wanted to show you the spectacular New Zealand Haka Dance
before the game today. I wonder if it discouraged USA from winning?

98-71 final. USA wins. Best thing about the video was the fact the team USA treated the 'display' with respect. Would have been easy for any of the players to simply walk away or around the NZ team and head back to their bench. Nice to see that they didn't do that. At least it didn't appear that they did. Is NZ doing this before all of their games or did they just need some extra help vs. team USA?

I can't watch it here, but if it's what I'm guessing, they do the same thing before all their rugby matches at the center of the field. They had a great story on their team, which is usually the best, on HBO's Real Sports a few months back. And those dudes are a little scarier than bball players.

They did it a week ago in Serbia too, 5000 fans loved it and clapped along.

But yeah, they do this all the time (Youtube is full of other examples).

Fantastic cover of Exile on Main Street Blues

Tom Waits good buddy, Chuck E Weiss' new album Red Beans and Weiss is fantastic. Some will hate that Johnny Depp helped produce with Tom Waits, but man this is some fantastic music. Very evident by his loving and reverential cover of The Stones Exile on Main Street Blues. Sublime. Keep listening as it packs quite a New Orleans punch after the retro beginning.

Baird and his band are amazing. They are working their asrses off even if they play for less then 100 people. I saw them last year and I have to admit that I rather prefere going to one of their shows then going to one of these unpersonal Stones gigs. If you have the chance seeing them this fall in Europe go to one of their gigs and you want be disappointed.

Baird is great, and I've seen him several times live, with and without the Satellites. But I'd rather go to a Stones gig. Different league, imo.

He's got two bands going, one that he plays bass in. The Bluefields. The other, Homemade Sin, with Warren Hodges, is a close kin to the Satellites. I met Dan Baird at a HS gig. Great guy. See them or the Bluefields if you get a chance. Or if the Suffering Bastards play, then you'll get some Stones -that's Bobby Keys' band with Dan.
