Beast Of Burden covered by Buckcherry

I thought it was good, It did not stray away from the original version that much yet still sounded Buckcherry.

Keith Nelson and Stevie D. have always had that Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood form of weaving especially in their live shows. Xavier Muriel sounded great on drums one of the greatest rhythm drummers around, a little louder than Charlie but that's ok. Josh Todd made it his own with his voice, which I think is better than Steven Tyler and Axl Rose. Kelly LeMeiux sounds fantastic on bass although I really miss their former bassist Jimmy Ashhurst. Jimmy played with Izzy Stradlin and the Ju Ju Hounds and also opened for The X-Pensive Winos in San Francisco. Jimmy keeps in touch with Woody and always comes out to meet and talk to fans after gigs, A True Musician. I have been fortunate to get to know Jimmy and become friends with him myself.

Definately solid Charlie inspired drumming...as far as the rest it's a bit too much like the Stones version but not as good.

I mean if yer gonna cover a tune you better make it your own or make it BETTER than the original, imho. Interesting post though, thanks. peace

Good cover. I really like Buckcherry, although I'm upset by the direction they've taken. They seem to be content just doing things the way they do and not really showing much growth. This is at least something. I guess Confessions was a step in that direction to, but to be honest its my least favorite album by them.

I had high hopes for them. Everything you had written is not wrong. I really thought they may be onto something after Crazy Bitch, with 2 solid albums in a row, but not quite growing in any way. Solid musicians, but never quite made the impact I'd hoped they would and now its just kind of too late. Not to derail the thread, I just really like Buckcherry but have come to the sad conclusion that when I listen to them now I kind of think about the missed potential.

Nice cover of a lovely song, but not far enough from the original to be memorable.

My mother used to plant them in her flower garden...I don't know much about them beyond that.

i like them. they are a little less heavy now, more bluesy style on a lot of tracks. you are right though the songs are still good

There was a thread about Krokus here last year I think. I liked them back in the early 80's in high school since they sounded like AC/DC. Saw them March 82 in Vancouver opening for Motorhead at the Kerrisdale Arena (treaclefingers is from Vancouver so he would know where it is). Didn't follow them after that.

Kerrisdale is a very residential neighbourhood with a high percentage of 'retired folks'. Kind of hilarious to have a band like Krokus playing there.

On the other hand, most of them were probably asleep with their hearing aides turned off before the show started.

I was still in high school on Vancouver Island at the time.
