Saw Nina Persson (ex Cardigans) in a tiny club in Laguna Beach Monday night. It held maybe 100 people. She was just awesome. Enjoy.

I saw him last Wednesday in the Zeche, Bochum, Germany, playing a nice version of IORR. Here some other Stones covers by him.

He is great, she is just ok to me. She sings technically well but i find her a little cold, she doesn't put her"soul" in it. Just wondering how lucinda williams would sing the same song with her sandy Voice

Susan recorded YGTS a about 6-7 years ago on an album under her own name. It's a fine version. She's always struck me as a nervous performer, however, which may account for her seeming "coldness."

Saw them a couple weeks ago in Portland, mainly to see him perform. He lived up to expectations but otherwise it wasn't a good show. The sound mix was terrible, extremely loud, no subtlety, no dynamics. The band was good, but too many extended solos by sax, trumpet, keyboardist, each seemingly trying to be clever, dissonant, not bluesy much at all. Susan was good, but she shouldn't be playing any guitar solos.

Sorry you didn't get a good show Dave. I've seen them a couple times and the shows were very different. At least they are mixing it up and not doing the same show every night. I'm smiling over your description of the soloists....I imagine playing in a band with as good of soloist as Derek, the temptation to be clever would be hard to dismiss. smoking smiley

What I like is the way Derek plays off the vocals...if the vocals are building, the fills and solos are. When the vocals are peaking Derek is flying. Some sublime interaction between those two. peace

I was at the same show in Portland (and four others this year) and couldn't disagree more with the review... I LOVE it when Susan plays solos.. And the big sound with everyone getting a shot at showcasing their enormous talents... Wow. Loved it.
(it's called a jam band for a reason)

A stage full of blues greats that had inspired The Rolling Stones.

Not directly music related but I found this very funny:
