Good stuff there, brings back lots of memories.
I grew up in Santa Monica, and used to rub shoulders with Hollywood Fats, as well as Les Butler of Red Devils fame(RIP).
Here's a clip of Fats when he joined the Blasters in'86...sadly, he died later that year.
And here's a cool video tribute to Hollywood Fats made by former Hollywood Fats Band member Al Blake:
