With all the bad news lately, I'm happy to report to this dedicated group of fans that the late show from Champaign has finally been found complete! A friend of mine here in Nebraska has been holding a cassette tape all these years and I had a chance to hear it recently. The quality is similar to the rest of the tour but very listenable, Richards on fire as usual/Jagger alot calmer than the early show. Again, when this will emerge (as it isn't mine) is unclear but it runs approximately 60 minutes. Good news on a Thursday morning!

Cool. I discovered the incomplete version of the 2nd Champaign show back in 1995. I put it on Dime in March of this year, and previously traded it to a few people over the years.

I got it from a guy named Neil Sharrow. He told me he recorded his high school band over the first part, which is why that's missing. I assumed he was the taper, but maybe not, if the complete tape exists. Or maybe this is a different tape altogether.

Any chance your friend will circulate this?

Î'm sure it will be up earlier than Aberdeen 82...

Just to update, the last I heard he was still holding the original tape (now 40 years and counting). I think it's about time. He's also mentioned some original photos from the acoustic set that he'd like to use as artwork, so at least the thought is in his mind. Apparently they are fairly good ones too and plenty of them.

Please don't bomb me with emails (no harm so far), but what would you do if you were in his position (beyond posting it for free on the internet)? He may feel there is some value there. How was this done in the past or how has that all changed? I'll pass along any useful information and maybe we can get this going. I know I'm ready after hearing it.

Well, I guess it would depend if I needed cash or not(or theres certainly nothing wrong with trying to get someone else to turn loose of a rarity). Of course as soon as it gets out everyone will copy it but I guess thats the nature of the beast these days! So thats a tough one. A friend I had used to trade his tapes to a Japanese label and they would give him a few copies of that show and some more from their catalog but I guess now they wait for torrents?

Hey guys. I got it last week. As it's not the IORR policy to give actual site addresses I suggest you type in Rolling Stones Champaign 69. You'll find it.
I also got the Miami Festival 69 too.

As I already suggested in the past, but with no followers, I think that the easiest and faster solution is that we join altogether and send an offer.

Suppose that we are 50 names accepting to pay 10 Euros, we can offer 500 Euros for the tape. I think this is a reasonable offer and for us it's not a big sacrifice.

If we want to keep the tape only for the 50 people who paid the amount, we can make an arrangement between us and then seeding it with some spoken words missing or one track fading out.
Then, if some additional fan wants to receive the full version, he must buy it from one of the 50 original owners, which means some of us will receive partial or total reimboursement of the initial investment.

The only thing we must do is to find 50 fans interested; not difficult if we open a dedicated topic and create enough noise.

Here's another idea: Have the guy with the Champaign tape trade it to the guy with the complete uncirculating Milan '70 which goes with the video.

Then torrent each one.

Is this complete Champaign 2nd show the same recording as the incomplete version, or different? I thought the guy with the incomplete show was the taper (he recorded his high school band over the first part), but maybe he got it from someone else.
