OT: Favourite hot sauces

I love and collect hot sauces and have a good collection from around the world.

I'd be interested to hear if any other IORRs are into them and what they recommend?

Here are some of my favourites.

Nope. Never heard of it. But I'll try and find it although here in the UK we are fairly limited on what we can get. The best place I've found to get hot sauces is New Orleans market by the side of the Missi.

Amen Edith Grove. Tabasco is the sauce by which all others are judged. It is the Rolling Stones of sauces.

the GREEN tabaskeeee is really good.

The green Tabasco sauce is a complete abomination..like "New Coke" and Billy Preston doing a mini-set in the middle of a Stones concert.

funny that the Billy Preston spot on the 75 tour has been a recent "hot" topic, I think it was cool actually, so I guess thats a good thing that the green sauce would be compared to it.

I don't prefer the green to the red, its just a variation on it ,and a good one. Its terrific on Omellets.

One thing on my shopping list whenever I go to the US is one of those GIANT bottles of Tabasco!!

I highly recommend the harissa sauce by Les Moulins Mahjoub (of Tunisia), which passes the stringent test set by a chili head like me. Found in Le Pain Quotidien. Worldwide store locator here:

Hot pepper Caribbean sauces like the one made by Tropical Sun ain't half bad either:

Shito sauce is also tops. It usually comes in both mild and hot - but even the mild versions blow your head off.

Then there's always chili chocolate for dessert.....

When the military delivers MREs (meals ready to eat) to the hurricane-affected areas, they come with little tiny bottles of Tabasco!

I'm partial to Sriracha Hot Chili Sauce (picture no.5 in the original post).

WHAT ?!?!

Bought in your own fair city EG. In fact most of my fave sauces I've bought at the New Orleans Market off the Esplanade/Decatur. Got it near Aunt Sally's.

JR's Original "Little Taste Of Hell" "Sublime Doom" Voodoo Hot Sauce. Made by yours truly, all organic made with my own chilies cooked down in gramdma's centuries old iron skillet. It can take the solar panels off the space shuttle.

No shit! That's only a five minute walk from my flat.
The "French Market" is undergoing a major rebuild right now. Should be finished in a couple of more months.

Hang on, Ropeni. That stuff of yours is full of salt. My fave, Sriracha, has less than half of that (100mg vs 265mg per serving). Those of us with hypertension gotta watch the sodium intake.
