Beautiful. I am down to only 2, but will be selling one soon.

I once had 4. I have a photo somewhere with my brother and me with three. Cant find it though. May never have scanned it. I have about 20 different UK 1st LPs, 4 variations with the 2:52 Tell Me, and around 30 US variations. Its a sickness.

I am protecting my rare images, as I am writing a Stones discography..Too much internet plagiarism. No one credits anyone on the internet. Sorry about that. One of these days, when my book comes out, you'll see all of them clean. I am thinking about doing an interactive DVD version of the book, using some softwear I am working on. But dont hold your breath. This book is taking about 2 decades longer than anticipated.

no problem, can understand you. looking forward to your release! sounds cool!

Mine will feature the most complete Rolling Stones discography ever for US & UK vinyls. My co-author wants to do it all in one book, and that has been a problem, as I want to do several volumes, for example, UK singles, US singles, UK Lps and US Lps, based on time periods. So my idea is to do multiple books, by Decades, which cuts off nicely. 1962-1972, is perfect for the early years. But alas, if we do it his way (and he has the formatting down) pictures will be way to small. I want at LEAST 10 x 10 cms for each label. And that is still kinda small. I dont know Felix, but know of him. His work is outstanding.

Thanks for the interest,

JR

Hello JR, I'm collecting in special the 1st Album from all countries (and variations). Interesting to me are the 4 variations of 2:52 Tell Me. Can you give me a hint what the main difference is. And ... as I see your pictures -> the stock copy of Stoned really exist .... fantastic! Is it the only known copy ?

Btw. Just looking for an Israel debut record and an India one and turkey, if they really exist.

Nice to hear, that you are working on a book, which is ambitious I think, because you need a lot of time and effort.

4 variations is new to me. I think I have 3: 1A/1A - 1A/2A - 2A/2A missing the fourth one, unless is the test pressing sold on ebay beginning this year.

Please keep us informed John.

In the meantime one question on the US LP disography. Could you please enlighten me on the colours of the mono labels? Ok for the red labels but I'm messing up the burgundy with the maroon ones. Some of the maroon labels are definitively brown and remarkably different (example: Buttons) from the burgundy. But for some others the difference between the two colours is hardly detectable.
I was told that the reason behind the different colours is because of the London different factories locations in the USA. Is it correct?
Whatever: the colours are three or just two, being maroon and burgundy the same pressings?

Another point regarding the Stereo blue boxed labels: I noted that some copies have the catalogue number PSXXX of the same size of the mono labels.
Can we assume that, in chronological order, first came the London unboxed and, immediately after, the boxed labels with big characters catalogue numbers?

The 4 variations I have are as follows:
1. Matrix 1-A / 1-A, Mona Label
2. Matrix 1-A / 1-A. I Need You Baby label
3. Matrix 2-A / 1-A, Mona Label
4. Matrix 2-A / 1-A, I Need You Baby Label

As far as the Stock US Stoned, I know 4 other people that have a copy. It is 3 times rarer than SFM US sleeve.

Yes, the labels were always changing through time. 1st were wine red FFRR labels.
Then Maroon Unboxed, then maroon boxed, then brownish red (boxed, finally bright red (boxed).

Hello JR, thanks for the info, so the "hunting" goes on for me. I agree, that the Stoned Stock Copy is the rarest single, but what's with "Poison Ivy" from UK, how much are "circulating" (oh no, are secure stored in collectors safes) ? Any idea ?

It's time for some more photos ?

... two rare box sets from the UK, you will not easy find (at least it took a couple of years for me to have these in my hands) cool smiley

Btw. this thread is great, because I now get all the rare stuff out of the shelves again in my hands, just like being in the "Memory Motel" ....

and the MFSL Box (unfortunately not number 0001) thumbs up

Andreas, That is the 64 million dollar question! Naturally most of my No.1's have been though a good connection but one of them I found at a record fair! It was the weekend of release, first I found 10 then 9 then 8 etc... I came clean with the dealer (who is a massive Stones fan) and we worked out a deal.

Andreas, did you officially open this thread to Ronnie related stuff.... (p.s. Nice clean Decca French PS you have! Also your "Birds, Birds" on Reaction looks lovely is it an original?)

One of my earliest Ronnie (Thunderbirds) concert posters...

My favourite Faces poster! Totally British, totally London!

Hello Matt, yes ALL my Items are Originals, also the Birds Birds (as you might know, hard work to get one ... and do it via ebay or online is not always my thing, better have it in hands at record fairs - next one I will be is in Utrecht, November this year).

Great posters you have, especially the Small Faces Bus!!!, btw. I'm also fan of Small Faces and Faces.

Definately one of my top ten collection items (emotion and beauty wise) is this signed Kilburn LP. I love the artwork and the autographs are great examples. It was the first time I met Keith and Ronnie helped me to get it signed. I gave them both a CD copy with which they were delighted. They even put one in the player of Ronnie's Bentley as they went home.

This is a Ronnie signature ESP. They just added a sunburst one to the range of blue, black and red.

The Ritz concert poster.... (RIP Bo Diddley - a total legend)

Hi straycat58, better a not perfect cover than no cover ... I only have the record in near mint condition, but NO cover. So I'm looking for years for the Cover ... no I'm looking for a complete item, because a cover will probably never sold alone sad smiley

So, be happy to have one at least !!!
