Who is the 3rd guitarist @ 1:45? J. Ed Davis?? You see Keith motioning over to that side right before, as in "take a few bars'; at least I think it is to him and not Ron.
I always love Keith's red pants for that first 75 show. Fashion-ally they'd fit in with today better than 75. seems he only wore them that one show and then thought better...
That video...I see that it goes from show end to beginning LOL; Jagger is actually putting clothes ON as it flows.

I have that 75 tour book too; the green one. One of my first ones; and still a favorite.

That is non other than Jesse Ed Davis.

I looked at the thread title, and mistook the clip for NYC. Yep, Jesse Ed was guesting on SFTD on the 13th, as we know from the archive release thumbs up

Chris, was one of the ,best contributors to this board and a huge Stones fan as you can see by this thread unfortunately he was banned by BV during last year's purge, for speaking his mind, hopefully at some point the Boss here will unban him..

a shame; actually "banned" for speaking one's mind.

I attended both of the Baton Rouge shows. They did not leave the stage after SFM. Midnight Rambler was just the last song they played.

That's semantics. The entire 1975 tour ended with SFM/JJF. Any other song played after that is considered an encore, whether or not they left the stage (MSG) or not (LA). Baton Rouge of course was a different gig as it was a try-out with a very non-standard set list.

i don't think that could be considered an"encore" - they were not playing encores this tour until sympathy at MSG, right?

The Stones were at their peak visually with this tour, imo nothing they have done after it has come close to the sheer spectacle of TOTA,yeah they have had had bigger stages,Rubber dolls, etc, but this was it,musically imo they had reached their peak in 73,and in 75 the music was driven by Cocaine and it shows, but no matter as this thread shows, they were indeed the greatest, and no warhorses yet...smiling smiley

I don't know. I think Mick's vocals were horrible on this tour. Just a lazy, slurring shout. '75 was the year I got into the Stones but I think they sounded better and the shows more compelling in '72 and '78.

Keith and Woody sounded pretty good though.

I agree. 75 and 78 were significantly impaired by his singing. I think it wAs in the early stages of the steel wheels tour that Keith said "the f%#%}er is actually singing!" And I knew what he meant.
