This is a piece I wrote to the thread discussing hbwriter's absence - even though it´was started by someone with some different motives. When I tried to post it the thread was gone. I just want to share it here. This was written before I read the quoted piece by chris here.

The IORR forum pages are made for Stones fans to communicate. Normal manners are expected. Offending language, offending or personal posts are not accepted. Write as if you are talking to normal people. Write normal text, please do not write in UPPER CASE unless it is natural in the context. Please do not post or discuss other individual non-public persons without their approval. Political and religious posts are not accepted. Campaigns are not accepted.

I haven't seen those delated threads mentioned in the first post, but as far as hbwriter goes, at least to my ears there seemed to be almost a campaign against the interviews he shared with us. I find that extremely strange since most of the people liked them very much, and I can't see why there was any problem with them; he shared some partly-related stuff he had done elsewhere - like some other people do here - that might interest us (as they actually did). And besides for a writer it is always interesting to get some feedback from a devoted people like us. For some reason, this went to the nerves of some two or three people here and I saw some some really nasty comments, including personal going offending language" if anything. To my eyes hbwriter always been one of the most polite, good mannered contributers here, but perhaps there is a limit. In a way I can understand that one gets hurt and might get angry if provoked by such manner. It is him and his posts that had been under the attack by some poeple here, and what I see here is him just losing his temper for that reason, and perhaps going over the top (I don't know that since the threads are disappeared). But I would call it a defense reaction, and not being offensive in the beginning at all.

In no any way I see here a justice done. I know BV is very logical and consistent moderator, and he applies his rules mechanically (and some people seem to know how to use that 'button' to get wanted results). But what I also know that we have lost an unique and great contributor. Once again, unfortunately.

The reason I quoted bv's forum guideline was as a direct answer to the question posed in the now deleted post which asked something like if it was OK to call people names.
I can't even remember who posed the question and I think it's a shame that bv didn't directly answer the question himself and then close the thread rather than just delete it.
Looking through this thread, which currently runs to 27 pages, you can see that all of Honestman's contributions are no longer available and that's because they all disappeared when bv saw fit to ban him for a so-called "offensive" post.
I can't remember any of hbwriter's posts being either offensive or campaigning and although some of them my well have been "Off Topic" many, such as this one, were definitely "On Topic". But, either way, they were always of interest to many people myself included.
The irony is that this thread is on the Home page as one of the "Great forum links".
Anyway, here's my contribution:

I agree Doxa...

It astounds me when people on this board overreact and feel the need to click the Report button.
If a topic doesn't interest you....move on. If you have something to say (positive or negative)...fine.
But let that be all you do. Why the need to tattle like a 5 yr old in kindergarten? BV can run
his board as he wishes. He doesn't need anyone else's help. Let all threads take their natural course.
If popular and interesting to people...they will survive for a while. If not, they will fade away.

Shame about HB. I dont understand how anyone can report another contributer just like that. I dont get it. This is 2012, not 1997.

I first saw the Stones in June 1975 in Toronto. Great show - BUT I still lament the loss of Mick Taylor. His lead guitar work was so silky sweet. I loved Ronnie as a replacement but his style was too much like Keith's. I think different styles bring out the better playing at least in live venues. Still, the 1975 show was for me the greatest thing I'd ever witnessed live. I wouldn't see them live again until 2003.

The Rolling Stones and members of their entourage walk up a backstage ramp to the Spectrum Arena dressing rooms.
