No news is good news (an old saying), but what's going on? I worry a lot about Ronnie, his health, marriage and the future of his band.
Are there any news?

Well, no specific news on Ronnie.
BUT something to cheer readers:
Sunday Times (On-line edition- 31/08/08). An item on Dennis Hopper (he of Easy Rider fame).
The American actor has been "clean" for 25 years now but for most of the 1970's was putting away:
-half a gallon of rum a day
-28 beers
-3 grams of cocaine.
In addition to surviving his acting career has continued to flourish.
Ironically, (thinking of Ronnie) he is a keen and reasonably accomplished artist and photographer.

So there may be hope.

Speaking of Dennis Hopper, I rewatched True Romance this weekend. The scene with Dennis and Christopher Walken is cinema magic. Seriously. Watch the whole thing if you can, great movie.

Jo and Jerry looking good last night:

It seems Ronnie has left rehab and reportedly may be camping out chez Pete Townshend.

Yes - it seems that Pete has offered Ronnie a bed (and board) for the time being, acording to the Sun.
A bit ironic, following Pete's comments on a recent TV documentary about wanting to shag Mick.
Ah, the wonderful, wacky world of show biz!

Good to see the Stones wives still maintain their friendships! I suppose Jerry's needed some support by the other ladies through the years, too. She has experience in handling what Jo must be going through, I guess... Cheer up, girls! And rock on.

And I thought she's pulled him out of trouble on several occations.

yeah if the guy can't keep it in his pants and is doing a minor then it surely must be the wife's fault!

I think that this thread has become rather stupid during the latest posts here.
Let's get back to respect for Jo, Ronnie and their kids.

This is a hard time in their lives and we should be very very aware of that.
I sincerely hope that everyone in here on this board will treat this matter with respect. Hopefully everything will resolve itself to the best.

Been Stoned since 1964 and still am!

Hopefully the Mother of Ron's "Party" pal will soon have the leisure to find closure writing her memoir (a la Sid Vicious' Mom), once the family pulls together to heal from this ugly incident, and after she gets the millions she most certainly deserves - Man if it was my daughter I'd take the Perp out back and tell my posse to use bats, tire irons, etc, and stomp this devious, calculating predator (oops, been watching a Law & Order marathon)...
My sig. other has been drinking a liter or 2 Vodka every day, and despite being 37, basically healthy (considering), & this nightmarish slip lasting a mere 4 months, it kicked his ass more than dope, crack, etc. The more one suffers serious relapses the greater the possible damage. I care about these 4 strangers (on one level) as if I know them...Charlie's 2004 scare, Keith's brain surgery...Such crises become more frequent with age...For me worrying about my favorite band (more than that really, sniff sniff) feels familiar. Part of living life vicariously!!!

Is the picture as bad as it's painted or are outpatients who have to live with a rehab counsellor still not allowed to go home until after that stage is over?

cheers ronnie!!!!!!! have another

If you're suggesting he have another "drink", may I respectfully suggest that perhaps that's not really a very tasteful or appropriate comment to make, in all fairness ? The guy's pretty obviously got issues or problems, and even allowing for the hysterical press coverage and the associated factual distortions or exaggerations, we out here probably don't know the half of it. But it's pretty damm likely that a drink is the last bloody thing he needs, wouldn't you say ? Don't you rather wish him well ?

Hear hear! Comments of that ilk are nothing if not crass and ignorant.

Yeah, I'm with Beast, it had to be said, thanks, Paulywaul.

Even as a joke, it's not funny, flies in the face of any progress made
by Ronnie, tears him down.

All the comments about things not being funny, or being distasteful ... so it's ok to talk about the Stones as long as we praise them, but we're not allowed to point out their flaws, or make jokes at their expense?

I don't see why not. They are public figures, and they've gotten plenty of praise, adulation and money from that status over the years. This is just the flip side - if you're famous, people are going to praise the positive things you do and criticize and make fun of the negative things. You can't have one without the other, that's just the price of fame.

Your comment quite frankly is pathetic. Ronnie Wood may well be a Rolling Stones guitarist, he may well have benefitted from, or enjoyed, years of praise and adulation from adoring fans for countless years, but can't you bloody well recognise right now what he is right NOW ? If it HAS to be spelt out to you ... he is but but a mere mortal struggling with a hideous disease ... namely alcoholism. So if you really think that the kind of comment proffered by the likes of "melillo" is actually remotely tasteful or appropriate or kindly or understanding ... then I for one would beg to differ strongly with your opinion and dismiss you as an absolute f***ing a**hole ... and I make NO aplogies whatsoever for saying so, even if BV sees fit to ban me from this forum.

If you are as rich and famous like Ron Wood ,and you are surround with top doctors specialised in drug addiction, and you have a bit of brains, nothing to suffer,no serious trouble to deal with like millions in this world, and you find your inspiration in drinking alcohol..

Absolute bollox. It's not a one-night hangover or a few bum notes he's played or a duff haircut he's had or a naff outfit he's wearing, all of which might well merit jokey comments and/or criticism. It's a disease that can kill. Helloooooooo.....
