Whether Ronnie or members of his family read this board is irrelevant. And whether anyone here knows him or not is also irrelevant. I very much doubt he's the first addict who has been in and out of rehab - the fact that he has is a measure of the problem, which only he can sort out. He'll do what he will and what anyone else thinks doesn't matter. I also doubt if anyone here is spending their time "worrying". But some of them might be feeling a bit of concern and humanity.

Surprised to read Ronnie is looking to Pete Pownshend for help. Pete I am told, although still on the wagon, still attends AA meetings regularly and is fearfull of anyone who is out of control. Aparantly it was RW who took Pete out on his last big bender a couple of years ago.
Surely EC, if anybody, would be a better bet for Ron if he is looking for solace from his colleagues.
I fear RW is treading the same path as George Best and is finding the same answers.

Seems kind of ironic that Woody has turned to Pete for help, considering those two were most instrumental in helping Clapton get off smack in the mid seventies, organizing the "Rainbow Concert", etc...

Didn't Townshend set up some kind of center for recovering addicts, back in the 80's, along the lines of EC's "Crossroads" clinic? To his credit, you can tell Pete cares about helping people...hopefully he'll do Ronnie some good.
