The wildest Stones related thing you ever did

When the stones started their A Bigger Bang tour, I decided to see if i could be like Keith through out the whole tour. I built this interesting looking stage with a DVD screen and lights. I played every night the stones did through out their whole tour. If the stones played on a certain day, I played that same day, but i played the setlist from the past show. I even practiced every song they rehearsed in rehersals. I would plug my guitars in to my amp located at the bottom of the set up and i played along with all the songs. I used the four flicks DVDs for the screen if certain songs were in the setlist. The rest was based on either live cd recordings or orginal cd recordings

For The Keith songs i sang them with a microphone. For the B - Stage i put the amp and cd player on a wagon and my friend push it out during the song Miss You, Under My Thumb or IORR so i was closer to the people or even in the middle of the people who came to see me. My friend would wheel the wagon back for Honky Tonk Women. He also would tune one guitar while i played the other one. I have a fender telecaster in open G tunning, 5 strings, like Keith's and a I have a black Epiphone in standard tunning which looks similar to Keiths gibson. I even dressed like Keith and wore lots of bandannas and clothing ranging from lepoard jackets to black dress clothes. I even had friends do the same thing and open for me. A close friend of mine dressed up as Mick Mars and did some good Motley Crue acts.

When the stones played Stadium shows i played outdoors or in garages, depending on rain. For Arena shows i played in basements and for theater shows i played in living rooms. The scales of the stages for each were different. I also used the stadium dvd for outdoor or garage shows. The arena DVD for Basement shows and sometimes if i could fit the DVD screen, the theater dvd for theater shows. I used fireworks for outdoor shows and confetti for indoor shows. I put the cases of Stones Records on the stage. A red rotating light was used for Sympathy. A disco ball and other cool lighting gadgets i used for encore songs.

I started off as a decent guitarist, but i have found more skill through out the journey and i got good at improvising and making up riffs. Some shows were wilder than others. One show i did in 2007 i started off and it was 90 degrees and in November of 2006 there was one show where it was 30. I no im obssesed but im addmitting it.

LOL!

Hey KeefRichards88, that's a lot of effort!
However everyone knows that to extract the essence of the band, one must take a full term of Jaggeroloy 2.45?

Well nothing quite that obsessive. But during the BAPS. Me and sarahunwin shared simialar stories about what we did when the Stones played the lovable old dump Candlestick Park during the '81 tour. I was 18 at the time and had caught the previous day's show. So me and a buddy decided we would go back the next day and just hang out around the Stadium. After parking about 2 miles away and walking towards the stadium and hearing nothing but muffeled sound. We decided we would climb this big ass hill next to the stadium for (hopefully)better sound & sight. Well this was a pretty steep hill and even back then I wasn't exactly svelt. So my small little friend hustles up the hill without looking behind him. I start up this thing. Take a bad angle and find myself virtually stuck halfway up a steep face. Starting to panic just a bit,my friend finally looks over the side and sees me. The best he could do was offer encouragement. I had visions of being plucked off that hill by a helicopter. But I finally made it to the top. Only to find that the only thing we could see was the other side of the stadium and the sound wasn't much better.

"It's just some friends of mine and they're busting down the door"

Doctor Dear! - For club shows i played in my finished basement where i got a nice sound system and i could only fit 3 people down there. I had one couch for them and put a subwoofer under it so the sound from the CD pluged into the suround sound could shake everyone on the coach at the show, We just finished that part of the baasement in time for when the stones did their shows at the beacon and i sill remember both of them, they were loud but so fun

J.J. Flash - It's funny that you bring upo the tree, I was actually in a tree the day that happened, I was helping someone put up a tree fort and i had a headache because of the sun and i went in side to cool off and i read rocker fell out of a tree, on the computer and i clicked on it and said Oh No - But no i did not jump out of a tree or snort anyone, hahaha.

dixiecup - I actually did a meet and greet once or twice. When i did the last O2 concert i was playing for a bunch of people i never saw before in my life and this little kid who sat in the front row Ronnie side cracked me up cause his mouth dropped, My dad said he thought you were the real thing at first. It was kind of dark and i play under the stage lights, for basement shows i tie x-mas lights over the stage, so it looks cool.

A friend of mine heard about me doing this and laughed and it was not untill the summer tour of 2006 were he came to see me. Thats what got him into doing it with Motley Crue, then he started opening for me.

I will see if i can figure out how to do it , but maybe i will post it on youtube, but a friend of mine filmed one of these shows, and it is the same setlist as Rome Italy in 2007 - we caught Live With Me and I'll Go Crazy because of DVD space, but yeah i would love to show you guys - in the begining i even have a rain stick and wave it around.

I have only saw the band once and that was in Toronto in September 2005, I paid for all my family and a friend, cause i said Im going to see this band if i have to give up my house. I took the tour of the rogers centre the next day not as much to see the building but to see them tear down the stage. I met some of the truck drivers the night before the show, decent blokes.

I will do another tour again when the stones do. I did not charge people either because i love doing it. When i played in peoples garages i loved watching cars drive by and roll down their windows and just start dancing in thier cars. I was always afradi i would cause a car accident when that happened. Even cops would come around and start bobbing thier heads. When i graduated from high school a while ago, they gave me my diploma and said "Congrulations, Keith is King." - i dressed up as Keith for impersonation day and got my picture in the yearbook.

This pales, but since the topic is here, here is my story. It takes place over several years. From 1983 to about 1988.

I was staying on a Kibbitz in Israel for 5 months before backpacking Europe for the following 4 months, anyway, while on the Kibbutz, one night a bunch of us (Europeans, Aussies, Americans, South Africans, etc) were sitting around listing to the Stones, before you know it, I was challenged by a guy from Oxfordshire (?) to a Jagger lip sink dual. After I wiped his A$$ I realized I may have a hidden talent.

Anyway, over the next several years I entered 3 lip sinking contests with cash prizes and won first place in all three (I used Brown Sugar twice and Satisfaction once). One of them had an entry requirement of at least 2 people, so I told my girl friend, (now my wife), that she was going to be Keith. So I went home, grabbed my guitar, borrowed a cigarette, gave it to my wife and told her to act like Keith (I explained that to her), and we took home the $200 first place prize.

I joined them, onstage, at the Mocambo. Wasnt old, just three, but it was a good concert, believe the boots. And yes, I tipped them off, the police. Keith didnt play like he did in 1972 and I felt he needed to focus.

well, here's one for you.

Taveled around Europe in My yellow camper van watching the Stones in Various places - Sweden, Denmark, Germany, France, Netherlands, France, Uk.

Anyhoo, In Germany at the Dusseldorf gig, I hooked up with this chick at the concert, got on pretty well. I was getting pretty tight, but around half way through the gig I told her 'It's time to go and fulfill our destiny' ha ha, off we went to the Gents loos and locked ourselves into one of the stalls!

As we started to get jiggy with it, I could hear in the background, Sympathy for the Devil. so as this chick was on top of me I started going, Woo Woo, at the top of my voice, someone in the stall next to me taking a dump even responded.

After a while there was banging at the door, I told whoever it was to bugger off as I was busy, anyway it kept up getting louder until the door opened and there was security and the German Police, they took one look and escorted us both off the premises, if memory serves Paint it black was just starting.

Now that was a great gig. hope Keef woulda been proud of that one!!
