"Nothing like an afternoon rock show!"

Or so the blonde-haired guitarist said sometime during the show.
Turns out he's from Harvey, Louisiana.
Harvey is just across the Mississippi River from where I live. Only a bicycle ride to the business where I work.
As for the show, I'm happier than a pig in shit that I chose today to attend Jazz Fest!
The Raconteurs should not be missed by anyone, by any means.
JW & Co. played like their life depended on it.
If anyone is undecided about traveling to see these guys, think no more.

Perhaps it's easy for me to talk these guys up, especially with the hometown connection, but I believe anyone who frequents this board would appreciate seeing this band live, or at least pick up their latest.
I know I will!

98% of the folks'round here seem to think everythin'
this J White dude touches will turn into gold..
I think we are 2-3 less enthusiastic ones.

Me, I need older, wiser, more experienced artists.

they were bloody brilliant, last night, at The Hammersmith Apollo,
the atmosphere, downstairs, waiting for the band to come on was electric, and the crowd went hysterical, when they started playing.

great show.....oh, and apparently, Mick and Ronnie were in attendance
(didn't see them myself).

anyway heres' the setlist:-

'Consoler Of The Lonely'
'The Switch And The Spur'
'You Don't Understand Me'
'Top Yourself'
'Old Enough'
'Hold Up'
'Keep It Clean'
'Level'
'Steady, As She Goes'
'Rich Kid Blues'
'Blue Veins'
'Many Shades Of Black'
'Little Red Rooster'/'Intimate Secretary'
'Salute Your Solution'
'Carolina Drama'

This album is more dominated by Brendan Benson imo (The dude from Harvey). The album is brilliant; rockers, soul numbers, trumpets, clavinets all over the place and great, great vocal performances. And fantastic songs. The best touring band right now, imo.

The new Raconteurs album is the best rock album I've heard for years. Much better than the first. At last Jack White has got a McCartney to his Lennon...or a Jagger to his Richards. Power rock at its very best.
