Elton John joined The Rolling Stones onstage for Honky Tonk Women to open their concert, and stayed for the entire show. Mick Jagger: "We should have kicked him off the stage, but we didn't. It's because we're both English." During the show, Mick Jagger indroduced Elton John as "Reg from Watford".

Is there any footage on this infamous gig?

I don't think Elton actually stayed for the whole gig. He did stay longer than the Stones wanted him to though. Or at least that's what I've read in multiple books.

In Ft. Collins, John, dressed in a cowboy hat and L.A. Dodgers windbreaker, joined the Stones onstage for their opening number, "Honky Tonk Women," saying it was the only tune he knew. He reappeared after several songs and remained until "Midnight Rambler," ten numbers later. Billy Preston and Ian Stewart, whose accessibility to the keyboards was at times hampered by John's noodling, were reportedly upset, as was Keith Richard. After the show, the Stones turned down Elton's offer to take a helicopter to the ranch for a barbeque.

ROCKS OFF
LUXURY
DANCE LITTLE SISTER

As the last 3 numbers?? No way, sounds like this is a bootleg and they tagged on those 3 songs from the first date of the tour at LSU. DLS was dropped right away and Luxury was dropped pretty quick, as was Rocks Off. JJF was the last song on the 75 tour set list and sometimes SYMPATHY was done as an encore......

"ROCKS OFF
LUXURY
DANCE LITTLE SISTER

As the last 3 numbers??" Yes, that sounds weird.

Well, at least the set list appears on this [www.vex.net] website as follows:-

"Jul 20 1975

While, however, the ROCKS OFF website [rocksoff.org] has the setlist ending with JJF.

As time goes by, has meanwhile any footage shown up, old newspaper reports been dug out or the like?

Or is there any live witness round here to tell us how it was?

"The summer of 1975 was a rocking time at CSU. That summer three big concerts were held at Hughes Stadium. In early July the Beach Boys and Chicago took the stage. Elton John was also there. Later that month, on July 20, 1975 the Rolling Stones were the headliners. Today's photo is from that concert."

He stayed for the whole gig, playing through the numbers where Stu was supposed to get onstage. You can clearly hear Reg at the beginning, playing at that time the only Stones song he knew.
