Hey ya'll!
Just got finished watching the Bridges to Babylon DVD.
I was at the show in Ft. Worth, Texas less than six
weeks before they filmed the show in St. Louis.
What I noticed was that the B-stage in Ft. Worth was
really a stage off to the side of the main stage,
not a stage in the middle of the floor as we know it today.
The St. Louis stage, of course, had that bridge which
extended out from the main stage to the B-stage on
the floor of the arena.
Seems like a huge jump in B-stage technology in
less than six weeks!

Observation #2: I noticed that Charlie always wore a
jacket when walking to the B-stage in the "old days."
He does not wear a jacket anymore, that I've seen, since
the advent of the mobile B-stage.
I'm thinking that due to the hot stage lights,
Charlie felt more comfortable wearing a jacket while
walking the bridge to the B-stage.
Now, since Charlie is constantly surrounded by that
damn plexiglass, forgive me Tim, when the stage is
picked up and moved out, the jacket is no longer needed.

And, oh yeah, what about all those panties/bras that
find their way to the B-stage?
What is up with that, and what does Mick do
with all of those undergarments?

Anyone here ever rip off their underwear and throw it at Mick ??

Come on now people, be honest!
I, for one, am way too modest to toss my undies onto a stage.
However, I am thinking about stopping by the dollar store
on the way to my next Stones gig, and picking up a
cheap bra just to throw at the stage.
And I normally don't wear bras!

lately i think more underwear gets thrown to Ronnie than to Mick - Ronnie is nice about it,
and Mick mostly just throws or kicks it back. (not that i blame anyone for not liking missiles being hurled at him -
one doesn't know until they hit whether they're soft or not.)

Last concert at the O2, a black bra hit the protruding section of stage left near my seat when Mick was there singing. He picked it up and put it in his pocket, but looked like he dropped it off behind a speaker a few moments later. Towards the end of the concert - same thing. Mick was singing, black bra came sailing, and this time he ignored it, didn't look at it but stepped carefully over it as he was moving back to the main stage.

Three thoughts: First, always black. Why always black? Second, what do they do with them? After a tour they must have hundreds of bras, do they donate them to a shelter, kinda like a lingerie equivalent of a food drive donation? Women would be grateful... Third, is there anything sadder than an abandoned, rejected bra?

The last question is rhetorical, BTW...

Anyone here toss their undies toward a stage?
I suppose it doesn't have to be a Stones stage.

course of a show whether he picks them up or kicks them aside.
On the BTB DVD I just watched, they were white and
Mick kind of hung them from his left pocket.

Seriously speaking, I would hope they do donate the
goods, but there may be some health regulations in
most areas against doing that.
I know a lot of retailers won't take back undergarments
after they are purchased.

You think that's bad. In the bar at Cabo Wabo in Tahoe,they have bras hanging over the bar. Not real exciting to look at or think about. Espicially after what Rockman said about sweat stains.

All right! Cookie looks like she is related to my cat, Alice.
Both calicos with the black patch over one eye...Plus both have

No thanks Lip. But my kilt wearing days are behind me.......So to speak.

Guys - if you wore a kilt, you'd have nothing to throw at the stage! That is, if you wore it in the traditional manner... like the 75-year-old man on the whisky tour I took this summer. And he did not know how to sit like a lady... [Shudder!]

Think you're best to bring a spare for flinging about. That way you don't have to fish around for your dainties at a dark concert, hoping not to miss the crucial moment while you hop around with your shoe caught in your jeans, watching your target come and go without catching your ginch.

do you really think they're taking their underwear off and throwing it?? That's what used to happen... now surely anyone at a Stones concert to throw their underwear at the stage has simply brought a pair for the purpose.
