Keith's always been very supportive of the local community in his neck of the woods. He may not spend much time there but has put his hand in his pocket for many local causes over the years. He's never made a fuss about it...doesn't fit his image too well ;^).

I live about 15 miles away from Chichester. I wonder if Keith is undergoing treatment at this hospital - I can't of another reason why he would be in gloomy, old Chichester this time of the year and why he feels so concerned about the hospital closing that he is prepared to get out of his pit early on a saturday morning (previously unheared of), to stand in the rain waving a banner. Anyway - good for him.
Great initiative! There's a good heart in that body of his. I just hope fans don't bother him and ask for autographs during the march. Don't scare him away. He's been staying at Redlands more or less all the time since the tour ended, hanging out with his kids and grand children. So, it's not due to medical treatment, as I saw someone trying to start a rumour about. He just wants to be with his kids.

Yeah exactly-he is not the 'look I'm getting rid of world hunger all by myself' Bono type of character-good for him!

lol. I doubt that I would be using NHS at Chichester
One of the things the campaign is about is the proposal to do away with the Accident & Emergency unit at St. Richards. Regardless of whether they are usually a private patient, anybody with any sense wants the nearest local A&E to be as near to where they live as possible!
Last time I was in that part of the world the place was plastered with SAVE ST RICHARDS posters for miles in all directions. Good for Keith for supporting his local community.
Keith's been supportive of his neighbourhood in West Wittering for a long time. He's provided funds for a local school, and when the local counsil needed money to provide street lamps along a pedestrian's path, mostly used by school children, they sent him a letter, asking for a contribution. (they asked several other locals, too) Keith's answer was a cheque for almost £ 100.000. That covered all the expences. No wonder the locals love him.
If the weather in Chichester is anything like it's been here this morning (dull, grey, likely to rain any minute) then the sunglasses are just a bit of essential rockstar looking-the part...
Thanks everyone for posting pix and links! I suppose the Saint. Richards hospital has been named after...?! Good to see Bill there beside him. And congratulations to Bill, who got married on October 6th. (And to a very nice lady, too.)
