Great second release of 60's-70's soul material from Neal Hemphill's
Sound Of Birmingham label....This time around the Rabbit Factory label
dig even further into the vaults and offer up a treasure trove of rare soul tracks...
Scattered amongst the many gems are 4 unreleased Frederick Knight tracks
with the king-rarity being the original demo of I've Been Lonely For So Long
which was later covered by Mick Jagger on his Wandering Spirit album .....
Neil Hemphill was a plumber from Birmingham who in the mid-60's set up
a recording studio in the basement of his business to capture the sounds of local talent...
In the early 70's he built a new improved studio next-door to his business
and fitted it out with the mixing-board from Jimi Hendrix's Electric Ladyland, New York studio...
Rabbit Factory is an indepentant label set up by John Ciba & Derek Evers with the intention to preseve -
" Southern music and culture through the reissue of lost and unknown classics as well relevent new material"
