Tom Waits is getting a guest spot on a future episode of "The Simpsons", an honor previously bestowed on the White Stripes, Sonic Youth, Lady Gaga, "Weird Al", the Ramones, and every Beatle except John Lennon, to name a few. Here's what "Simpsons" producer Al Jean told TVLine.com about Waits' cameo (via Consequence of Sound):


“We did a lot of research into the ‘prepper’ phenomenon, where people are convinced that some horrible catastrophe – like an electromagnetic pulse – is going to occur, and that people will have to survive without the grid. ... Homer becomes a prepper.”

Waits won't sing in the episode, but his character will help Homer become a survivalist. The episode is called "Homer Goes to Prep School" and it's expected to air sometime in December.

Other guests for the upcoming season of "The Simpsons" include Fred Armisen and Carrie Brownstein of "Portlandia", Zooey Deschanel, Patton Oswalt, and Justin Bieber.

Rockman, do you have the book by Cris. Sanford "50 years"? If so, is it worth getting?
I was totally planning on getting "50x20", but you say it is basically just a rewrite of "40 x20"?

I just can;t believe that Charlie still has the same cymbals from way back. Charlie is not a huge guy but he hits with a respectable force. I've seen him lean his whole body into fills. But even without that...just time and the long road and studio wear and tear.
Drummers I know are constantly updating their cymbals because they break.

If so, is it worth getting?

Yeah it's an up-date with extra shots ...
BUT them there extra shots are farkin' great ... Just get it Palace....
