I will of course be there, as I was at the first two, but I think this will be a genuine sellout - can't see any officially available tickets, although I suspect there will still be some at the box office, and there are the usual amount still going on eBay.

Great pics, thanks. Just got back from London. The second, and first show were tremendous. They seem to get better and better. Ain“t it great to be a Stones fan. And hello to RollingStonesFan who I met at this show.

this was a very good show, but nothing more IMO. was it just me, or did keith really f*ck up the intro to tumbling dice on thursday? he pretty much nailed it tonight, and then stood there grinning at mick as if to say, "see, i can still do it!"

Just got home to California. Went to the first two shows. The first one was excellent and had some real high points. But, the second, Wow! I heard amazing things from a lot of people. People were dancing the whole show around me (for both shows); I was straight back in the first section.

The things some people said about the second show: incenderary (sp?), Explosive. It was the most consistent blazing show I have ever seen!(seen them 23 times; only one to compare was Vrendenberg). Totally Amazing. Worth the trip 10 times over. Thanks for the good times boys.

And, a special thanks to BV for helping it more exciting and fun!

Thats a GREAT pic of Mick in the air, really captures the moment.
Mick in action, Ronnie focused on the crowd, and Keith staring off to outer space.

The second one is great as well. Charlie at the helm, holding it all together,
in his own little world, behind the plexi-glass.

>> was it just me, or did Keith really f*ck up the intro to tumbling dice on thursday? <<

just you. what got screwed on thursday was the "segue" between I'll Go Crazy and Tumbling Dice -
the idea is that Keith comes in with that glorious TD riff right after Mick ends his "only one thing" chant -
but that's not always what happens. on thursday it was Mick who fluffed it, not Keith;
on sunday they got it perfect. :E

back to the thursday show: it was all-out stunning - as usual it took a couple numbers to get the sound perfect
but (as i said on another thread) by Rough Justice it was like the guitars were replacing the pyrotechnics -
so gloriously loud you could feel the heat off 'em. All Down the Line sounded great,
the whole engine room gettin plain filthy - no wonder Keith was dancing so fine!
and the guitars crunching up She's So Cold (Keith used his new Zemaitis for that one, by the way) -
and the soaring Shine a Light - and that hide-ripping Rambler - and Keith finding new levels of meaning
in Tumbling Dice (he didn't want to let go of that one!) and in Satisfaction, with that Gatling gun recurring all through it -
and Paint It Black and Mick getting all giddy and pissing Keith off ("now! start now!"winking smiley just before JJF -
which (if you're gonna piss Keith off at all!) is clearly a supremely good moment to do it :E

they are forever.
thank you Rolling Stones!

>> [bootleg recordings] only lie by omission. they only record one sense - sound. <<

they only record part of the sound. as the good open-g (i think it was the good open-g!) pointed out,
recordings aren't some sort of "objective truth" - they're what one recording device,
with its own personal idiosyncracies, captured from one spot in the venue, for better or worse.
sure, there are things that recordings can give some accurate insights into -
but "how it all worked together as a performance" is not invariably one of them.

>> beard-knitting dullard <<

smile: is that copyrighted or can we all use it for free? :E

first chance i had to say what a truly enjoyable concert this was, i left this to reading later after my review on the sunday concert thread and thankfully i seem to be in line with what most people state on this thread that thursdays concert was something special.

A lot better people than me can describe thursdays concert far better than i can, but for some reason it seemed to come all together each & everyone of them was on fire with all down the line, midnight rambler & shine a light being the outstanding ones inho. Midnight rambler was probably the third best version i have heard live and for me the setlist sounded a good pace of music. My better half was not really looking forward to this concert with travelling, expenses etc but she admitted afterwards that she really enjoyed it and now she has had the pleasure of hearing salt of the earth at twickenham and also shine a light & all down the line.

I was hoping for different songs on the B stage espiecally on sunday with either street fighting man or even get off my cloud.

I have also been putting off looking at my bank balance this morning, but i will have to bite the bullet and look at the damage. LOL

I thought I saw her too but wasn't too sure. Now that's confirmed.
