4. All Down The Line
5. DEAD FLOWERS!
6. You Can't Always Get What You Want
7. Midnight Rambler

Nice core of the show!

Song's 4-7, Band Intro's and Keef's banter, and maybe a B-stage song change is what sets each show apart from another...other than that they have a set formula.
BUT I LIKE IT!

This does not sound right. BV is far too loyal, The Stones` setlists considered. The Licks tour was a success, and much more varied. I don`t think anyone seeing them for the first time then, were disappointed.

PS! The Norwegian newspaper Dagbladet rightly wrote that The Licks tour was the tour that unfortunately never came to Norway!

Besides, The Stones cannot base their concerts only on people seeing them for the first time.

I like Micks brown lether jacket. It looks like something he would have worn in '75

did anybody ask for 'hidden gems' like "Spider And The Fly"? but what about Gimme Shelter, Street Fighting Man, Get Off Of My Cloud, Its All Over Now and the like - also "hidden gems" in your world?

if you like the Stones as a greatest hits jukebox, fine, but I prefer a little bit more creativity from a band with hundreds of great songs.

But they do!!! Compare if you will:

Brown Sugar
Start Me Up
You Got Me Rocking
Don't Stop
Wild Horses
You Can't Always Get What You Want
Midnight Rambler
Tumbling Dice
--- Introductions
Slipping Away (Keith)
Happy (Keith)
Sympathy For The Devil
Respectable (B-stage)
I Just Want To Make Love To You (B-stage)
Street Fighting Man (B-stage)
Gimme Shelter
It's Only Rock'n Roll
Honky Tonk Women
Jumping Jack Flash
Satisfaction (encore)

as compared to:

Start Me Up
You Got Me Rocking
Rough Justice
Rocks Off
Dead Flowers
Ruby Tuesday
Can't You Hear Me Knocking
I'll Go Crazy
Tumbling Dice
--- Introductions
You Got The Silver (Keith)
I Wanna Hold You (Keith)
Miss You (to B-stage)
It's Only Rock'n Roll (B-stage)
Satisfaction (B-stage)
Honky Tonk Women (to main stage)
Sympathy For The Devil
Paint It Black
Jumping Jack Flash
Brown Sugar (encore)

The first one is the Stones setlist for Copenhagen 2003 (The Licks Tour) and the second one is the set list for Copenhagen 2007 (ABB tour)

If anything, the latter seems a tiny bit more adventorous to me - but the point is, that the real set changes occured during the smaller concerts (remember - "Fruit of the Loom"?) and the current tour is a tour of stadiums as stated many a time!

Ahhh...what short memories people have ;-)

PS: So the ABB tour is a failure then?? Only 5 million people attending? Dear, oh dear, whatever shall we do??

In my world "Gimme Shelter" is a warhorse ..."Street Fighting Man" too. But were you at tonight's concert?? If not....what IS it to you?? I wonder ;-)

If you read this board too much it is a miracle they have even made it this far. They have made every possible mistake - especially during this last leg of ABB *lol*

....and that is the show we should each care about. How can anybody sit and get agitated that they did not play one exact song at a concert where s/he was not even present?? *lol*

And, personally, the Stones could play 50 songs and I would still be able to name at least 10 they should have played also ;-)

Yeah I absolutely aggree.
I do believe many people gets tired of the same songs, but then again why on earth do they have to go to 10-20-30 shows on the same tour, I simply don't understand it.
I've seen 2 f****** great shows with the band in 11 months, and I don't care very much about which songs they've played at the other shows, as long as the audiences have had a great time :-)

Again we cannot do nothing but aggree!!

I would not go and see 20 stadium shows with the Stones - as big as fan as I am (have been 1973 at 11 years of age)

I was not even go and see this one - but I thought Van the Man was gonna be the warm-up....and I want to see him....so I thought I'd go anyways...and he cancels ...ya gotta larf (and then it was the best of them all in a way)

Yeah a pity that Van Morrison didn't make :-(
But still it was on the best. Brought my 19 year old son to his second Stones show, the first being Horsens last year. He's convinced although his a Beach Boys fan :-) But then again, I went with him for the Brian Wilson concert in Aalborg, which was a very nice experience as well :-)

You here from Aalborg as well?? Svendborg just a reference to aquavita? *lol*
My son is only 11 - nearly 12 now - would have loved to wait a few years to introduce him to live Stones - but I seriously doubt they will swing past here again...so I had to take him (he was at his first concert in 1995 - just a few months before being born).

Would have loved for him to be a bit older - and taller *lol*

No I'm from Svendborg :-)
Well I wanted my son to experience the Stones in 2003, as I was sure that it would be last time :-) but he didn't want to go then. Fortunately he has had the opportunity to see them last year and this year. I also doubt if they'll return, BUT if they do we'll be there :-)

C´mon guys everybody has some point.... Warhorses for one nighters,blah,blah....
This setlit is worst than the one i saw in madrid. And i didnt get any abb song.
Anyone can take seriously ycagwyw? its very plain and boring since...well 73.
And yes DF, but DF deserves a B-stage. While satisfaction (i could live without it) deseves the A stage.
But we have to expect changes on the O2......
Why?????????
Why them dont behave like in a normal stage and play the 4 - 7 different numbers, and the rest as in nomal gigs?
what make the o2 a different gig?
3 nights in a row?
London?
did i pay less?
.....

Well im a setlist moaner....because i truly believe that the stones could do a fantastic set list...

Re: Dublin reports and comments

and lets think about setlists , most of the guys who go to many concerts in a tour would get tired of some songs , but they go to some places to play some songs that havent played before as they do in usa or germany , you know , when they go to rarely played countries they have to play most-known songs , and when they go to places where they have played on almost all tours , they have to play different ones , and remember the show is not just for one of you , its for all , someones have to listen a song that you dont wanna hear and viceversa

Re: Dublin reports and comments

A perfect setlist for all-nighters , not one-nighters as alvaro said is this:

Street Fighting Man
Rough Justice
Oh No , Not You Again
She Was Hot
Sway
Wild Horses
Rain Fall Down
Cant You Hear Me Knocking
Little Queenie
Mixed Emotions
BTMMR
Wanna Hold You
Miss You-b
Respectable-b
Neighbours-b
HTW-b
Sympathy
Start Me Up
You Got Me Rocking
Tumbling Dice
Satisfaction
Brown Sugar
JJFlash

and this is for london gigs , dont say anything about warhorses , those are really great songs , thats why its warhorses , you have to accept it.

well, biggest problem with setlists is that they dont play 23 or 24 songs anymore, they cut it down to 19 only. so variety had to go out of the window in favour of the warhorses, and more or less the same warhorses...no Shelter, no Street Fighting Man, No Cloud, no Its All Over Now... even b-stage is crammed with warhorses nowadays... in their 19 song set there is obviously no more room anymore for more rotating stuff. expect it to get even worser next tour when they probably cut set down to 15 or 16 songs due to age (and charge double ticket prices compared to now!!!).

if there is any indication that this is most probably their last tour it is their lack of creativity, their lack of enthusiasm for their latest album, their obvious lack of enthusiasm for more variety considering their huge catalog and consequently their development into a greatest hits showband. I dont believe that musically, they treat this too serious anymore.

Thank you for your whine California..............Thought I would start off by saying that. Because offering an opinion that does'nt firmly plant your lips on the rear ends of the Stones seems to be very disagreeable around here. To further protect myself, let me present my credentials. An absolute die-hard fan for more than 30 years. I have seen 19 live shows,5 on the ABB tour. Bottom line the setlists the last 3 weeks have absolutely stunk. I don't buy the theory that they are playing to the first time fan. First show or 100th. The Stones have been around for 45 years, there is plenty of ways the casual fan can listen to their very deep catalog. It's not like they are digging deep into new material...........If they play this same crap in London, then the most succesful tour in history will end with a wimper rather than a (Bigger)Bang.

Hear, hear (here, here?)

I mean, I agree. And, if those same-olds are that much the same in London, where...well, I think the majority are not first-timers...

For them to change songs, they'd have to rehearse, and, I'm just guessing, they're not rehearsing after 2 years on the road. The teleprompter would have to be tinkered with, the plexiglass would have to be windexed, ...all sorts of major problems, right?

Some quick memories from Slane Castle last night.
A picture can tell more than 1000 words.

Mud sliding and mud diving was enjoyed by many:

More cameras recording, even by the B-stage (see lower right):

The girl with the red top made lots of fun by the B-stage:
