I have a hunch that we won't see this Tele very often...

"great looking guitar" - nah, not for me...it's more of a flashy toy.
I wonder who gave it as a present, as I can't see Keith asking for one of these.

thanks again for the beautiful shot, tigerman! it looks like a gift to me too.
now what about the one Keith's got for Shine a Light on the BB dvd?
i don't know how to do screen shots, but it's another Suspected Gift Tele, to my eye :E

I haven't got my copy of BB dvd yet - but it's easy to make screen shots.

If you can play dvd on your pc you need a player software that can handle it.
I'd recommend VLC player, for free - [www.videolan.org]
when you play the dvd just right click and choose screenshot from the menue.
specify where to save the file - that's all.

It was given as only a painted body from a fan a couple of hours before the show, and the techs quickly put it together to a working guitar. I noticed it when Pierre checked it before the show, and I was after the show told the above story from a friend.

Interesting, Vilhelm, thanks for the info.

Pretty hardcore they could actually get it working that quickly.

Ronnie had a new strat in Copenhagen that also looked like a "gift guitar"...anyone got a pic of this one? I could see that it had a rosewood neck and was green with some kind of picture on it..

Nope, I checked the ones I´m gonna put up at hour site soon, and I can´t find a pic of that guitar, even though I saw it, and noticed that it looked like a new addition to me. I only heard the story bout Keith´s new tele. But I´ll check with someone tomorrow who knows.

Great EL-P! I think it´s a gift as well...

Ronnie's guitar had CSI written on the back, he showed it up after the song. I don't really remember the front and I don't watch the show so I don't know if it was only the back that had anything specifically to do with CSI. I wonder since Keith gut a pirate themed guitar because that's "his thing" if maybe Mick got a guitar with some water/evian logo type of thing/logo on it, or maybe also a picture of some salmon or salad on it;-)

Keit´s new guitar, from what I could see, apart from the skull, had a pic of his scarf, and then the picture seemed to morph in to his an image of his face.

Wow, that's a wild story - I'd love to hear more about it.

There must be a very proud fan out there...

Piece of cake so long as the geometry of the carve is thereabouts ;^)
Very nice story if true .

my reporter from the front lines tells me the back of the guitar features a picture of Keith,
but i'm intrigued by the idea of a picture that "seemed to morph" - you mean like those 3D pictures
that shift depending on the angle you look at them from, or ... ?
anyway it's sweet for whoever presented it to Keith that he used it during the show.

>> it's easy to make screen shots <<

thank you for the instructions, Open-G honey -
i'm hesitant to subject disks i value to the rigours of my computer dvd player,
but if i get up the nerve to try it ... i will! :E

I loved seeing him with this one. Cool front. On the back there's the B2B promo pic with Keith smoking a ciggy while laughing and wearing a hat and sunglasses (The pic is has all four members, but they cut out Keith for this guitar). I saw a roadie walking right by me with it.

my frontline reporter said Keith used it for I'll Go Crazy and Miss You.

Wondeful guitar! And I think it's the first time ever since 1994 he not used his Mary Kaye Strat on Miss You, right?

There is NO WAY that a fan would give Keith a guitar-body, then see it knocked up and in full working order on stage just hours later, nonsense!! Unless someone can prove me wrong.

It is indeed hard to believe - but maybe Pierre didn't have to start from scratch.
If it's true, it's nearly a miracle.

The story may not be true...but it's not incredible.
So long as the body geometry is right and all the holes in the right places...you can have all the other bits on and have it set up to play in about an hour. It's neither snake oil nor rocket science...just basic Meccano ;^)

Really ugly guitar, dare I say...

Yeah Spud, that's basicaly what I was saying, it can be done pretty fast when the IF's fit.
like you said; the body geometry, the holes in the right places and so on...

one usually get's stuck on minor details and you still have to get it intonated, saddle and nut adjusted, pickup hight, soldering Pup's & capacitors, strings on it, tuned and then you may want to test drive it aswell - all that's quite time consuming and I can imagine it's tough to deliver under time pressure

Not for the real pros.
It's just we second division players who worry about it ;^)
