OT: Media announcement about MASSIVE tribute show TODAY (Friday 27 July)
Posted by: SonicDreamer ()
Date: July 27, 2007 01:50

Hi me darhlinks

Look out in the UK media tomorrow (Friday 27 July) for an announcement about a tribute show in London in November (probably), at the O2.

One of the artists involved is akin to being handed the Holy Grail, which was previously thought impossible.

The Rolling Stones are not thought to be involved..... but you never know..........

I honestly don't know if I'd be excited or horrified if Zeppelin got back together. Love the band, but I doubt they'd be up to their previous standards at this point. It could end up being embarassing and tarnish their legacy.

Plus, Plant has a new album coming out (duets with Allison Krauss) in Sept. and is supposed to tour in the fall (see [www.tightbutloose.co.uk]), so I doubt a Zeppelin reunion is in his plans.

I am not sure how the announcement will be made, whether at a press conference in a prominent London hotel or by another avenue.

The provisional date was Monday, 26 November 2007.

Woooooooooooooo

Plant had a concert here in Koper, Slovenia.

It was quite interesting, but taking pictures was a bit hard.

Well we were lucky to get a short meet and greet after the show with Robert, he seemed quite happy but wanted to move on. After all, he spent like 5 days on Slovenian coastline. There were reports of him lying on beach mixed with everyone and nobody noticing him smiling smiley

Here are some pics i took during the low light concert:

Another Led Zeppelin compilation? That must be about six since 1990 (and all of those have been multi disc releases)

Some going for a band who only made eight studio albums....

I am sworn to secrecy (seriously), so can't mention names, thus need to be obtuse.

They are a real band, not something like an Australian Pink Floyd (and NOT Spinal Tap either, lol).

Now it looks like the announcement may have been postponed. B*stards :--(

Yeah, it is getting a bit ridculous with the compilations. There's enough stuff floating around out there for a rarities type compilation, at least one CD's worth, they should focus on that.

Here's what Billboard has to say about all this: [www.billboard.com]

Sounds like more false rumours to me.

Paul

No, it isn't mate, it's a proper gig. As I said above, looks like the announcement has been delayed.

My source is 100% reliable but I suspect logistics have temporarily interfered.
I have known about this event for two months. Press releases such as this need to be timed to greatest effect.

(glad to see the 1973 tour/Song Remains the Same is FINALLY being done correctly - at least that's what it looks like... MOTHERSHIP is totally STUPID...WTF is THAT about?)

I tend to agree. 27 years later and minus Bonham it just wouldn't be the same. I think Zeppelin and the Beatles are the only big-time bands that ever broke up and then subsequently stayed broken up. Can anyone think of any other examples? Almost everyone has made a comeback.

Ok, I just thought of the Cars and the Talking Heads. Broke up, never came back. Any others?
