Normal rate in our normal life. Yesterday there maybe
was one, too.

But there are always 700 under 700 if you go to a normal
Stones show with fans.

I know what I prefer.

Well there's a lot of frustration and emotion about this show.

To be honest, if I would've been given the opportunity to see them there, I would not have stayed outside.

Do I approve this kind of concerts ? Who cares !
If I was a band like the Stones, would I do private gig ? Why not ! But certainly not this kind of stuff, with people having dinner in the same room and sitting on tables.

Would I have the money, I would rent the Olympia, take the lower part of the venue for my guests and friends, and sell the balcony to anyone who wants a ticket (not expensive, but maybe 60 EUR each, to pay the cost of the security staff)

Just to clarify....Deutsche Bank was the sole sponsor of the Rolling Stones
Shanghai, China tour.........so it's not just some random corporation that
hired the Stones for a private gig....there's a pre-existing relationship
and the Stones probably felt some obligation.

It's not a surprise that a dinner-concert for a rich company would happen - maybe it's just that; playing for "Deutsche Bank" is like the berries that make the Stones-business-cake complete - and it's not a cake for us to digest !
It still means nothing compared to all the great fun and music they've created through the years

There's a guy from the U.S. who makes a living (so to speak) at finding his way into private celebrity events and hard to get into events (Academy Awards, Super Bowl, Presidential Inaugurations, etc) and I wonder if he ever crashed a Stones private gig before? He's never been charged with trespassing because he convinces someone to let him in without a ticket. He has different disguises and creates a character to go along with his story...pretty funny. He shows up to these events and talks his way in and it works. He creates so much confusion and holds up the line to get in that the ticket-takers and security just let him in so they can press on with admitting everyone else. He then enjoys the event without incident and then tells his story. Several times he's found himself in the luxury box seats and/or sitting amongst V.I.P's celebrities.

I bet those bankers were blown apart by the show. Can't wait to find out if any of them danced on the tables.

You know this is in no way true. At a normal Stones it's far from being 100% filled with what we would consider real, genuine Stones fans.

We're always talking on this site about how there are only a small percentage of hard core fans at Stones shows, especially at stadium shows and that there is a huge amount of people who could, at best, be called casual fans.

We all know that especially at the stadium shows in the US, which are all seated on the floor, that the seats are filled with people who hardly know anything by the Stones, outside of a few of the main warhorses, and that the Stones cant't take too many chances at obscure songs in a show because the masses at the shows just won't know the songs.

Someone in charge of booking talent for this Deutsche Bank event must at least have a liking for the Stones and assumed that enough of the people attending the event would also like them. I really doubt they would have gone to the extreme expense in booking the Stones to try to impress the 700 concert attendees if they felt that it wouldn't go over well with the crowd they knew were attending. Sure, it carries a lot of bragging rights to be able to claim you hired the Stones for your own private event, but I don't think you'd have booked them if the majority of the people attending your event would have disliked them.

You got to also consider that as Deutsche Bank is a German company, most of the 700 people may have also been German and that Germany is the European country that consistently gets the most concerts each tour. The Stones are extremely well liked and known in Germany and I don't think that it only applies to working class Germans.

older lady gets up from one of the front of stage tables and whispers to her comrade sat next to her as the stones are playing silvert train or dance part 1 or similar - i dont really like this one audrey, im going to powder my nose in the washrooms and hang around in there till the bingo comes on - non of us can wait for the aftershow bingo!

makes me want to vommit that the boys are "winding up the fans" with this cr*p!

At least the people are there to see the Stones, even
if they don´t know them that much.

If this Bank gig is a reward for great brokers or clercs
who made a lot of money for the company. it sucks, and all my
words are true (as always )

Well, this has really broken my heart...to think I missed out on a gig with a bunch of suited n booted bankers, and I'm only going to see them with 20,000 Stones fans in London's newest venue. I can't imagine the atmosphere will be anywhere near as good.

I'm looking forward to the setlist from this gig. Maybe they kicked off with Star,Star and Mick led everyone in a mass singalong?

Rooster. It was a private show. No public availability of tickets. Unless some mega-rich bank official somehow happens to post on here, its unlikely youre going to get any eye witness accounts

To me this is a crying shame. To celebrate 45 years of the Rolling stones by holding a concert for these people, it just makes me want to cry. This could have been a glorious night, we could have had another Brixton or Cirkus Krone with real fans. This proves to me how ruthless the Stones have become in making money, what possible benefits are there for the Stones other than the money??? I'm not one bit jelous I was not there last night my next gig will be Slane Castle and I guarantee the atmosphere will be a thousand times better.

I understand Gazza but those folks have friends Children ect...and still we hear nothing??They are not worth such a great band!

Their kids or friends wont have got in either, as I understand it...

I have the show report but for some reason my Belgrade network will not let me update IORR permanent pages ... I will get another network tomorrow, then the show report and set list will be up there.

Just because people attend this event with nice clothes does not mean that they are oblivious to the Stones music. It was a private company event that heavy corporate sponsor organized. What's the big deal? Are you assuming that classical music are the only CD's in attendee's collection. Stones fans are in all age groups, and lifestyles.

Your allegiance as a fan should not be judged by the fact that you wear jeans and tee-shirts to a show and "dance in the aisles".

Anyways the setlists are boring for the whole tour. Real fans want to hear more than the hit parade. That's probably what they got and what you have been getting so far.

Who says bank people do not stand up at shows? Who says you are better than me or him or her? Why is the set list is boring if your alternative is a one hour show with garth Brooks or Bony Tyler or Kylie Minogue? I think some people are simpy jealous here!

Absolutely right.

The setist is fine for that type of show. Expected nothing different. Its irrelevant.

The Stones as someone's after-dinner "cabaret", however, is a crock of shit.
