OT-Police in Atlanta

I know this is going to get me in trouble, but are any of my southern friends planning on attending the November 17th show at Phillips arena? Elmo, Fred....anyone. I know they're not the Stones, but who is?

Shawn, I didn't get a ticket. If ya got a spare, I'll be glad to join ya! winking smiley

BTW, I saw their last show there in 1983 - the one on the DVD and live CD. Excellent.

I'm seeing them in Hartford next month, and must admit I'm a bit apprehensive after Stewart's comments, and the reviews I'd see so far have been average at best. Hope it's a good show, though I'm sure it will be a disappointment since the last 9 shows I've been to have been Stones shows! LOL

Sorry Elmo, I only have the two. If you're in the area, you should stop by our old stomping grounds...Jock & Jills for a drink. That was a great pre-show party.....you and the mask....it was too good.

Yeah, I may try a scalper. I like the fact that it's on a Saturday night. It may be the day of the Georgia-Auburn game.

Great band, and I'm sure everyone will have a wonderful time.

If a friend called me up that day and said, "Got an extra ticket I'll give ya for free, wanna go?", for obvious reasons, I'd take them up on it.

However.....

I was at the 1983 show at the Omni that was released on video (The Synchronicity Concert), which was, I think, the Police at the top of their game. My oldest son went to Bonnaroo a few weeks ago, said that they were "very good" but that noboby really got very excited about their show. They were the headlining act, and my son said they were very much upstaged by several other bands. I've heard some other comments that the band pretty much "phoned it in" at that concert.

Guess if you've never seen them live before, and you've got the money, hey, go for it, but I'll content myself with the DVD from the old show.

.....yeah Mongoose, I thought The Police was an interesting choice as a Bonnaroo headlining act. I wondered how they would be received by the crowd......now Gov't Mule on the other hand, that band knows how to put on a show.....seriously.....they rock...

The police in Atlanta did do a drug bust, but they chose the wrong house and killed an elderly lady who was innocent.

To serve and protect.......what a shame. Maniacs with badges.

Shawn, I was thinking of it but let the presale and first day of public sale slip right by without getting any tickets. Not sure if we will do that one yet or not. I'll email you if we decide to try to make that one. It would be a good show I'm sure!
Got 5th row tix for Joe Walsh in Charleston SC though! : )
Hey to Mike for me!
Later!
Fred Hardin
Pleased to meet you........

Saw them at Dodger Stadium on Saturday and thoroughly enjoyed it. I'll post some pictures if I can figure out how.

May go to Auburn and Kentucky games or neither. Police are playing at Phillips which is about a 20,000 seater. The Hawks sometimes draw 400 or 500 to their games!

Just got home from my once every third Saturday work gig. They were still advertising tickets for The Police at the arena tonight here in New Orleans.

It was packed. 55,000 at Dodger Stadium. I actually can't believe people bothered with the upper deck seats. They were so far away.

Our seats are on the first level behind the stage...sort of their on-stage seating. I saw the Who in that general location at the old Omni in Atlanta in 1980 and they were great seats.
