Great (as usual!) thanks for posting!
I can't help but pitying Ronnie a bit - he's such a nice guy, too nice, perhaps.
And Keith...well, I can't believe he gave him such a kick...

"Backing onto his foot..." Yeah right...
Seen that many times where someone gets insecure about his old partner getting sober. Keith getting jealous, because Ronnie has a bunch of talents and interests outside of the X-Ray Room. That is petty.
It seems like Ron's big step into the next realm came with Jeff beck's call. That is when he hit bigtime.

thanks Rockman!
one bit that puzzles me: "The first 'proper' band he played in was his brothers' outfit, The Thunderbirds" -
that's not right, is it? i mean: did Art and/or Ted have anything to do with the Thunderbirds aka the Birds??

>> yeah right <<

yeah right - i'm sure you never accidentally hurt anyone while horsing around.
i'm sorry Ronnie got hurt, but even he seems to acknowledge that Keith wasn't deliberately trying to injure him.
the Glimmer Twins have been horsing Ronnie around on stage since 1975, and if Ronnie's gotten tired of it
i'm all in favour. at the same time, one of the famously difficult things about quitting an addiction
is navigating all the changes it brings about in relationships with people, and it's hardly strange
that Keith and Ronnie aren't finding it easy to work out new ways of relating to each other.
seems like a good time to wish them all well with navigating that, don't you think.

I think Keith is just being a pain in the ass/leg.
You'd have to kick someone very hard so that he bleeds, that's not really something that happens by accident, I think. But anyway, I guess Ronnie can take care of himself smiling smiley
I just think Keith is really behaving in a stupid way.

Oh come on! Give a brother some room. Do not appreciate being bolded. Reprimanded in class..

>> You'd have to kick someone very hard so that he bleeds <<

"bleeding inside the muscle" is what it says - aka a contusion, not a gaping wound or something.
obviously it wasn't minor/funny, since Ronnie needed a stool to lean on at the Atlantic City show,
but things like that do happen without anyone meaning them to.

like i said, i can dig that it's hard for these two - especially for these two -
to find new ways to get along with Ronnie sober, and of course it's not hard to imagine Keith
being not exactly nurturing about it, but i doubt he meant to cause him a serious injury.

Ronnie's been so gifted at the role of the Put-Upon Younger Brother to the Terrible Twins for so long,
and his grace in putting up with miles of lord-knows-what has meant so much to keeping the band together -
i really just wish 'em all real well in navigating the hard parts of these changes.

>> But anyway, I guess Ronnie can take care of himself <<

smile: yeah, i sure hope so!

and Chelsea honey, it's just a response like any other.
you have all the room you want, far as i'm concerned. have some popcorn.

Thanks for this Rockman. Great read and I just love Ronnie.
BTW: Christ. Not that same old Tattoo-You-Is-The-Last-Great-Stones-Album phrase. Do they even listen to the stuff after Dirty Work?
