Does Keith still have that cat?
Posted by: Edith Grove ()
Date: January 23, 2007 18:28

Thinking about my own cat, been with me for sixteen years now, got me thinking about that cat that Keith adopted and supposedly named the Voodoo Lounge record and tour after.

Anyone have a pic of this cat or a good story that relates?

I was going to post an ignorant Chinese chef comment, but I'm a cat lover, too.

LOL, when someone started the "what are you eating thread" I commenting on killing a cat on Thanksgiving (the Mick joke).

That cat's got a serious red-eye! What's he been drinking?

Red-eyed cats and Blue Dogs on the same thread. We need to be careful here!

I don't know if Keith still has Voodoo... here's a picture of both of them:

But I do know that he still has Rasputin (a dog he adopted in Russia a couple of years ago) - he's doin' fine in Connecticut ;-)

Hey VoodooKeef, I should have known you'd come up with that pic. Thanks!

This isn't my actual cat, but looks identical. He's a seal point Birman. All Birmans have blue eyes and white gloves and have incredible personalities. I'd recommend this cat to anyone looking for a new pet.

Or a Maine Coon! They also have their own incredible personalities and are fantastic buddies!! :-)

This one looks a little bit like mine:

How did you know ?

yes he must have it embalmed over the fireplace, near the Mantovani Orchestra picture..

for sure a Keithean cat would be the anthropomorphic black enormous cat, that walks upright and speaks, in Bulgakov's "Master and Margarita", and that´s nothing less than a faithfull servant of Woland, a.k.a. the devil, who arrived in Moscow in the 30´s to turn upside down the false and repressive society of the soviet union.

"Master and Margarita" is an absolute masterpiece, you have to read it if you didn´t .. I red it only now for a sort of anticonformism - it was too fashionable - but I was wrong, beside promoting spiritual and thought freedom, and criticizing totalitary and nepotist systems, it is very funny and visionary..

For sure it influenced Jagger in sympathy for the devil - our guy has wealth and taste - there´s a chapter about Jeshua (Jesus) and Pilate, who´s tortured by the doubt, if sparing Jesus from death or not, and he traces his fate the wrong way, and for sure it influenced Mel Gibson, since there are many similarities, and Bulgakov marks out that the dialogues in the Pilate chapter were mainly in Aramaic, beside Greek and Latin...

Of Bulgakov I also loved "Heart of a Dog" and "The Fatal Eggs".

All-American! Kind of a generic term, describes mixed breeds. Dogs like that could also be called mutts.

I know that calico cats are multi-colored. Maybe that's what you're thinking of, Rooster.

but definitely rescue one from an animal shelter - don't buy one - there are so many homeless cats that are killed daily because no one adopts them - there's no need to breed more
