Journey, next weekend, in Toledo, Ohio. $81 (each) sure seems like a lot of money for bad seats and a band with only two original members, neither of whom is the lead singer, but it's a gift for my wife (which I put on her credit card), who grew up with this shit, and has finally given up on the idea of ever seeing them with Steve Perry, and is now happy just to be able to cross "Journey Concert" off her bucket list and maybe get a cool t-shirt. Besides, I know a good Italian restaurant in Toledo.

I'll probably enjoy it more than she will .... just like when I took her to see another of her bucket list bands, KISS.

Before that, no tickets, except plane to get there, but going to attend the
Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in San Francisco's Golden Gate Park. Three days, FREE... like eighty bands, Lucinda Williams being the biggest draw for me, but also Rosanne Cash.. Lake Street Dive, John Prine... good times.

Definitely going to Bumbershoot Festival in Seattle today. Name is appropriate, as it is raining but not too bad. The Replacements, Dream Syndicate, a tribute to Big Star's Third (members of REM, Afghan Whigs, Dream Syndicate, Los Lobos, Pearl Jam, the Posies + more with some interesting rumors & Jody Stephens), Los Lobos or Bootsy Collins to end the day. Looks rockin'!
