I like the one guitar Ablett design. Definitely no tongue of any kind!

I want soething 100% stones-related as an image.
Either silhouette all four or just some text.
It should be easy to spot from stage or anywhere.
Even by half blind people.
Think big. Think simple. Think clean.
The simpler the better. And the esier to recongnize.
That is why most modern logos are very simple and clean.
The T-shirt print should be equally simple.
Just a message. IORR etc. Plus a clean simple smashing image.

Thanks!

Bjornulf

Amen!
This means the Ablett design doesn't work... We're working on some stuff this very moment. Will send it to Bjørnulf as soon as it's ready.

Ok - not to kiss my own ass here, but....

Doesn't anyone else besides Wmiller have anything to say about this idea? I think it makes a lot of sense to do it this way.

Ok, this is just an idea, if we're going to talk about costs of printing shirts, etc.

A very EASY/CHEAP way to do this would be if we can agree on a logo design, have the logo available on here for download.

At any arts/crafts store, you can buy for about $5.00 a box of special transfer paper that allows you to print out a picture and then iron it onto to fabric. I actually just made my son a Stones tongue t-shirt last week and it looks great.

That way there wouldn't be a need for ordering a large quantity of t-shirts, having to deal with mailing them out, finding someone to deal with the mailing of the shirts, etc.

What do you think?

i think it's an excellent idea, cindy! my only concern is that iron on transfers can fade - i think you can extend their life by washing the shirts inside out.

but of course, we could just download another if that happens (though i usually advocate a non-disposable lifestyle)

they definitely fade, that is true unfortunately. I was just thinking that it is possible that these shirts might only get worn occasionally. I pretty much never wear t shirts, but would possibly at a concert.

I don't think I've seen an actual Shidoobee shirt, I knoiw about the bright green colour, but correct me if I'm wrong, don't they use a Tongue logo of some kind?

Does anyone have a photo of their actual shirt?

Funny, how their shirt has seemed to cause a bit of jelousy over here.

Yes, Happy Birthday Muhammed Ali. Voted by the BBC as the greatest sportsperson of the century. Remember the Rumble In The Jungle? THE greatest of the greatest boxers. Will we ever see his like again?

I still love what ablett is doing.

Also, i remember bv said there could be two different t-shirts, one simple and one flashy. So why not have ablett carry on with his design and that could be the 'flashy' one, and then someone come up with the very simple design with just the iorr.org etc, as bv calls it, the 'lacoste' version. Then we can choose which one we want.

What's your favourite flavour?...........Cherry Red!!

I don't know if you are referring to my old signature timfromPlexiglassmontana -- I am varying it up a bit these days, having a little fun with it -- or you may have been referring to the irony of me speaking up for keeping the "of Europe" in there whilst I am an American. Yes, I am an American but I do think the European flavour (flavor?) is important to retain. And besides, it wasn't all that long ago that my family was European - my mother's grandparents came from the Fatherland in the 1870s or so, but my grandpa (dad's dad) came from Croatia in 1904, more recently.

YOU KNOW WHAT IS THE GREATEST THING HAPPENING HERE???!!!

This is the best thread since I don't know when and EVERYBODY is into it! Here we are up to 13 pages already and the creative juices continue to flow, this is great.

We have come together as the great IORR community that we are, this issue has unified us and gotten us away from some of the petty threads and petty arguments and insults (or at least now, they are over something worthwhile).

Maybe best of all right now -- this takes our mind off the European Tour 2007, whether it is going to happen, when the announcement will come, when tickets will go on sale, what cities and how many shows will they play, etc, etc, etc.

Whew, at least a breather from all that!

But this great community unity is wonderful. Maybe we can build on this or, at the least, enjoy it while it lasts.

THANK YOU ONE AND ALL !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THE F*UCKING PLEXIGLASS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it sounds like a great idea for people who live somewhere where these iron-on kits are easy to find,
except that i've heard that the results aren't especially washable.

and Han: very clever! :E

The idea with "local" printing is good. But the iron on concept sucks. I want a t-shirt of good quality, one that I can wear to all the shows this summer. One that I can wash every night. And the iron-on-symbols don't stick to the textiles very well when in contact with water... But the idea is good... It's like with communism. Great idea. Impossible to make it work well...

Count me out then. The Ablett design is the best anyone has presented, or articulated, so far.

You can't really design by committee so it ought to be VERY interesting to see what wins out.

Hey!
Don't go so fast... The thing is we need more to chose from. And since this is Bjørnulf's site, it's a good idea to listen to his opinion. But I totally agree with him. If you bother to read what BV writes, you'll see that Ablett's design is nothing like the idea BV wants explored.
But Ablett is obviously very talented. If he has a go at it again - bearing in mind the instructions from BV, I think he'll come up with a design that matches the purpose of the t-shirt.

Ablett's drawing was the best so far, I agree with R.

As someone who spends a large portion of time with his eyes squeezed into tiny slits to avoid the light, I thank you for your consideration.

Say what you want about the Shidoobee shirts, everyone who sees the green color knows immediately what it is, even from the other side of a stadium or the stage. Doesn't get any cleaner or simpler than that. A black shirt with anything on it will disappear into the masses.

Pick a color and simply put IORR.com on it.

Maybe something related to the song on the back?

I like it
like it
yes I do
