Schillid! Nice concept! A lot of IORR, and also some Stones to be found.

I've seen some great idea's passing by, I'm confidend there will be a good choice available.

A certain subject seems to return each x posts, that is ladylike models for the girls (very very reasonable demand, if you ask me).

Also the amount om text to accompany the image: only (www.)iorr.org, of also the fanclub since 1980, europe or no europe, biggest fanclub, whatsoever. A possibility to place the text, without disturbing the clearness/readability of the whole, could be to use the bottomside, let's say the last 10cm of the shirt, to place the text, OR in case of an image on the front, to use the neckline to add iorr - etcetera: there is place for at least ten words there.

I'll come back with an image of my idea as soon as I've found out how to place pictures on the net, and post 'm here.

I maybe have one comment, if you allow me Schillid: would it be possible to work some more on the lettertypes of both the logo and the text...?

Then I start working on my idea, maybe it adds something to the discussion...

I go for schillid's shirt, too. It's by far the best, I think. I'd also support Little Queenie's idea for something on the back. What about (in the same script but somewhat smaller) :
iorr.org
est. 1980
Just an idea.
I'm not sure if schillid's design would work for bv's idea to have an alternate shirt with just something small on the left side, but for that you could use the same text and script (smaller, of course), that I'd suggest for the back side. By the way, we shouldn't use different scripts on a shirt. Use the same script for front/back/large/small)

I've taken some designs to show some of the ideas I had. So do not see this as changing other peoples design, just as examples.

Use lower part of shirt for text:

Use neckline (backside) for text:

Use lower part for text, full-circle around the body, and keep the picture as free of text as possible.

And I've put Ablett's design onto a shirt, just to see how it looks. Is this what you had in mind, Ablett?

I should add that if you only put one image on it it's way cheaper. Schillid's could work, as also the case with Ablett's and Sssoul's.

ahem: i am HOPING someone will improve on "my" design, if it's still a candidate -
i don't consider it "mine", and it could certainly use improving.
one small change i made was to move Mick a bit closer to Charlie
so that the image could be centered better without colliding with the neckline -
here's that version, in case it's useful for anything -
but i don't have the gift or the software to do anything further with it.

i like Schillid's, and i like Mack Jigger's if the outlines can be made to look good.
i support the idea of a style for she-fans; and i prefer blank backs (and necklines).

Looks as if all that excellent input from the likes of Ablett, withssoul, Schillid and Mack Jigger is starting to coming together - thank you all and also thanks to Sluissie for putting versions/variations of them all together in one post, which makes it easier to compare. Thanks to that, I can now see the virtue of white on red, for instance - so I take back my initial reaction to that....

I guess BV is eventually going to start a new thread with a shortlist of designs to see which one gets the most yes votes.

Sluissie

Thanks for posting the styles together like that, great idea. MY favourite is schillids, with the red style above second favourite.

BV it would be great to get away from using black for the background fabric - please!

Yes Nicos, I'm guilty... But I just wanted to make a short remark on Roosters post, without bothering others with it.

The Schillid design is almost perfect:

I have added the following text under the image:
The Rolling Stones Fan Club

The domain name iorr.org or www.iorr.org is not needed. Why? Because most people who try to fing something on internet use Google, MSN or Yahoo. And if they search for IORR then www.IORR.org will be number ONE on all three. Also, when they search for "Rolling Stones Fan Club", IORR will be up there easily as #1 on Google and top 5 or so on most others (guess why Google is world leading...).

I think this is the best design. I don't think we need anything on the back. I have a few comments and questions:

1. Is this design "stolen" from other designs, or is it just often in use?
2. Where is the image/photo cominmg from?

I don't want two dozen lawyers knocking on my door. I want something unique, great, still genuine to IORR, without even the slightest chance of a dispute. I have the short of k d lang angel from asmb. The design should be waterproof legal wise and IORR owned only.

Then to the reason why we want this T-shirt. The purpose of the T-shirt will justify and clarify the design itself. I think the purpose of the T-shirt is this (in this order):

1. To tell other people you are on IORR
2. To show people you are an RS fan
3. To help people find IORR on the net

If there are too many messages on the T-shirt it will simply be "overcrowded". I like it the way it is above.

Then the remaining part is colors. I hate black. This is a personal issue. It is hot in the heat. And I like to see the Stones when it is hot. In fact I do only war T-shirts when it is warm. Am I the only one? Will this design work on a white or grey or sharp yellow T-shirt? That would be perfect. I would like a design where we could define any color T-shirt. Probably grey. Or sharp yellow. Something unique. I don't know.

As you see this is still in the brainstorming phase. Thanks to everyone for keeping the ideas coming without too many rules. We ned to see many different ideas in order to find something that will work.

Finally, are there anyone that simply can't live with the above design? If so, what is the problem.

PS. As I have said before, there will be two versions of this T-shirt (with several male and female sized of course). One with the print all over the fromt. The other with the print as a small image on the top left front, a la lacoste...

The sketch from top page of IORR would be an option if Ronnie were on it.

An option would be to put just "iorr.org" (or "[iorr.org"]winking smiley on the back. There are a lot of people behind you during a concert, so at least they will be aware of the website.

Have you seen those guys walking around in London Oxford Street with a large sign saying Golf Sale etc? I have seen this in NYC too. I think some people (at least me) would feel like one of those if there is a print front + back. Like a walking sign.

I'd want one with Schillid's design for sure (Still wish for same colour text all the way through though). Not the "Lacoste version" (Always hated that style), but the one with the big print on front..... In the women's edition. grinning smiley

I think the design is great as it is, but if people felt more information would be good, how about a simple www.iorr.org
established 1980
(two lines) on the back (with or without the www.) in the same font as The Rolling Stones etc on the front?

As far as colours go, I'd prefer a proper navy to black. Could we have them done in two or three colours to give us a wider choice? White should work fine with only the smaller lettering needing to be made dark, and any dark colour should be alright with the design as is. If the shirt is yellow (of any shade) I think you'd have to change the yellow letter in IORR. If the design is distinctive enough (and I believe it is) a small range of background colours shouldn't affect its recognisability.

You might have to scrape me off the floor at the end of the tour, but it'll be really good scrapings. - Mick Jagger

There is one point that should be made, regarding the Schillid-image. It is an image that only works on a certain scale. Imagine this one a thumbnail size: the images of the Stones fade, and reappear as staines or printing imperfections.

What you need on the breast is a logo, and not a picture, or a complicated, layered design. So i've just made an idea for a small breast thing, in the pic below it's the one on the right.

I've found a typing that is quite similar to the one used on the album ABB: Dutch801 Rm Bt. Maybe nice to use?

The picture here is grayscale: no colours, but technically multicolour, I suppose. So I'll give some examples later of other options with this spcific image.

Looks good in grey I think. Then add a cherry red shirt. Would look nice. Eventually it would look something like this: [www.gasolin.dk] ...And that ain't too shabby.

I think this is the best so far. Go for that.

just two things:

-no more additional messages, no url and no date (i.e. 2007)
-the colour; agree with BV no more black shirts; I personally go for a bright, not so common colour.
