I like the photo idea, but make a silhouette from the photo ?? and add IORR to it.

Sounds good to me : ))

It's Only Rock'n Roll

established 1980

The Rolling Stones Fan Club

IORR.org I would put on the back accross the bottom or repeating all the way round the hem and the sleeves.

Colour pref Electric/Midnight Blue, Red or Orange, personally I would not buy a pink or lime green T Shirt under any circumstances.

The coolest Stones silhouette is the tiny picture from the Undercover album.

I kind of like BV's suggestion - to pick a line or part of a lyric from ABB.
How about:
"This Place Is Empty Without....
IORR.org"

(I'll be happy to donate photos of the band. Some photos have been published at Stones Planet, RS.com etc - but I have the copyright! I'll make a picture CD and send it to BV.)

It's just an idea. But we all know the William Stout writing from the bootleg covers. At least its plain and simple and you can use more or less any colour t-shirt to print it on.

Any thoughts?

Okay, Bjornulf, thanks for the explanation.......I will cease with my requests for the Stones tongue.

That's a very cool logo, but we can't use the tongue.

Ok Lukester, peace.

BV, I cannot agree with you -- it seems to me the club/site have forever had "of Europe" as an integral and organic part of the IORR identity. And "of Europe" makes the link to the band's origins (though England not technically part of Europe whatever).

To strip that away is like losing part of our identity. It makes us unique, especially in the States. It's like the New York Giants (American football) still retaining the name and hence the identity even though they have played in New Jersey for years. So what if 65% of the membership comes from outside Europe.

It felt so strange to read "It's Only Rock n Roll the Rolling Stones Fan Club" and not to read "of Europe", like something was seriously missing.

Anyone else have any thought or comments??

IMO, this is the best one so far.

I agree with timbernardis....I like the "European" distinction......although I am not European, I nevertheless have always been aware that I was a guest on a European fan club website......I appreciate BV's intent to be all inclusive, but I think the European distinction is more important....anyone else? BV?

Yeah I will throw in my two cents. With all due respect to all European fans. IORR has truly become an international site. Why limit your id to just one area. The whole world is full of Stones fans. Why just identify 1 small part.

Besides why don't you two go back to arguing. It's much more entertaining!grinning smiley

Couple of cents to throw in--
love that undercover photo...

Also if the photo could be within a round or oval frame, as shown in some of the earlier designs, i think the band would recognize it from afar, especially if it was on white or a light color contrasted with the background of the rest of the T.

I join in the desire for a ladies T version, lower neck, fitted.

I think the back should say www.IORR.org and keep Ablett's Sketch - it's Awesome!!!

I like that idea, just turn the guitar around and fine tune. I still think if we do sleeves we should also do no sleeves (vests are they called in America??)

PS to PLEXIGLASS - I thought you were from Montana?!

Mack Jigger's design on page 4, of this thread, is my favourite, so far.
Simple, hets the message across,
and there's no mistaking, who the sillouette is of.

yeah it's a nice design but the image is no doubt copyrighted; besides which:
with all due love & gratitude, not everyone here would wear a Mick tshirt.
there is no one Stone that everyone here would want as the only one on a shirt.
if anyone, i bet Charlie would be the one that most people would agree to, but
it really seems like the choice is either all of 'em or none of 'em,
or a series of different shirts each with a different individual Stone.

I have returned!!

Few things I think we should consider. Firstly cost. If a large quantity is going to be produced then four colour options are going to be expensive if they are to be Screen Printed. My idea would be only one or perhaps two colours. Printing on the reverse and sleeve is also going to increase the cost. Also consideration needs to be made of who will place the order, sizing, colours and distribution?

I think any mention of using the tongue logo, band imagery, band photos etc. etc. is very risky and one BV is going to avoid. I'd also avoid mentioning names as this will lead to further problems.

I'd hope to see an iconic logo that over time might be used on the web pages, publications and garments etc. to build up a branding that is recognisable to other fan groups? I'm very sceptical tha the band will give a monkeys what we wear?

A few suggestions have now been put forward. Perhaps BV would consider a new page whereby designs could be placed and a draw made on the final design..... perhaps a completion date and a vote by members of the IORR board (BV having the final say). Could be fun?

If you want me to work up my idea further let me know........

I know I'm gonna take the opportunity to send a personal message to the "little man always sitting/standing behind me at Stones-concerts". -No, midget! I won't sit down! You should get a ladder.
But I'll print that myself. I bet you guys don't have this little guy behind you at Stones-concerts...

No tongues! Remember what Bjørnulf said: The Stones-lawyers are just waiting for an opportunity to teach us a lesson. If we decide to use their copyrighted logo, they're going to demand the site closed down. And we'll all be forced into Exile...
