i like the sketch, Ablett! but yeah:
the neck of the guitar should be on the left (all the Stones guitarists are righthanded)
and i'd vote for either a Gibson LP-shaped one or a Tele-shaped one as most "representative".
wings and torches aren't elements i associate with the Stones, but the heart reminds me of the Tattoo You tour logo,
and i like it. that one had those ribbony curlicues and flowers in it - maybe some similar shapes
would be good on this, instead of the torch/wings?
ahh the fine line between clear Stones allusions/assocations and being too imitative ...
[pondering and passing popcorn to Ablett]

oh and: i still vote for a blank back.

I think the back should say www.IORR.org and keep Ablett's Sketch - it's Awesome!!!

Great idea with a t-shirt! I'd love one. Many good suggestions here. I am joining in on the wish for a fitted women's shirt.

i'm trying to think of some element other than the torch/wings that doesn't imply
that we're all "retro" - something that would allude clearly to the current Stones.
alas, all i've thought up is the "explosion" effect that recurs in the ABB art logos.
no wonder i'm not a graphic design person ... have some popcorn ...

I like the sketch, but not for a IORR t-shirt. It could be a logo for any rock band.
I think there should be something of the Stones in it.

Very, VERY nice. I would suggest a second guitar to represent Ron, Brian &/or Mick T - and the tongue discretely in the center of the IORR ie.: I•O(tongue)R•R. Then set it up for a one color print w/ the ability to add a second screen for spot colors if, and when, the situation might call for it.

Think we're on the wrong path here, now! Too many elements. It's gonna look messy and cheap. And the boys on stage will not be able to identify us.

Think simple, clean, modern design. Catchy, easy to recognize. Elegant.
The idea with the explosion (like on the ABB-posters) is good. And an explosion is not copyright material, unless we really copy it. But we won't.

Why don't we just trust Bjørnulf on this one? His site, his party. His choice. And he knows a few things about design. Unlike many of us posters...

On some of the early pages there is an iorr´t-shirt from the 80s mentioned. As some of you still have one (at lesast Gazza). Can somebody post it? Maybe it's inspiring.

>> four Stones names on the shirt, (as seen a couple of pages ago) and leave out three <<

leave out four, you mean: there have been eight Rolling Stones.
i personally would go along with a design including the names or images of the four current Stones,
but if a lot of people would protest that, i'd say all eight or none (and i think i'd vote for none).

We have many artist on board...so I might demand a long sleeve shirt..with maybe a Cape...that would outshine everything and more room for art!

Whatever we do, I agree that it should be kept as simple as possible to avoid having a tshirt overcrowded with text and graphics. I did like abletts drawing a lot already, if he works a bit on it, it can look fantastic, I think.

Put the names on the sleeves: four (WE can include Stu!) on each. Put www.iorr.org on the collar. Then, front and back are still usable.

Haven't had time to follow the thread.

My only suggestion would be to have them of a bright, unusual color. This way it would help to spot iorrians at the concert!

keep it simple please.....don't list the names of the band members please....we know who they are.......I still think a little red Stones tongue would be good....we are a non profit ".org".....they're not going to sue BV for crying out loud.

the likes of Chuck, Blondie and Michael Cohl, should not
have their names added to this proposed garment.

I just had an idea (sorry if someone else already posted it and I missed it).

How about we do our own version of the Beggars Banquet album cover and substitute posters names, or signature tags or something like that.

Or on Gazza's Rock's Off site, they have a Sgt. Pepper's collage with their posters photos, we could do that with the Exile cover.

That's what I was thinking for the iorr member tribute CD cover (which is only 5 songs so far...)

only 5 songs? Is this a shy bunch of musicians on here?
