I was just browsing around on websites looking for guitar picks and this one site (which has picks in excellent condition but overpriced) had a few excellent picks with this name on them and it did note it was connected to Keith (his name may have been on the flip side).

So what is the group, how did it get started, and how did they choose that name of all things (seems it would be offensive to a lot of folks)?

Also, they had some of Darryl's picks which say "not Bill Wyman" on them.

But they actually toured under this name, did they not? When and where?

I would figure it would touchy or impossible to tour under that name in Deutschland.

never and nowhere - it was purely an inside joke (fairly obviously, i always thought!)

so exactly who were they and what did they do, just Keith, Ronnie and someone on bass in the recordig studio? Did they ever release anything?

Odd that they would have had guitar picks made with the name of the band and their own names for just studio stuff, I figured they only did that for tours.

it's a form of humour, you know? like the "not Bill Wyman" picks.

I think with Keith's stories, one must not take everything so literal.

You might use such a name off the record and just for fun if you are drunk or simply a bit hooked on war stuff and living far away from Europe. But you could never take such a name anywhere near Europe officially. It would be a personal insult to lots of people in Europe, even if it is 60 years since WW II. Actually just as insulting as using the n word when talking about afro americans in USA. You just don't do it.

I was living in NYC and it was at the time when everyone was wearing buttons. You know the rock;'n roll buttons from St Mark's Place stores. A friend of mine from Rome came to visit me. Everybody is blown away by NYC at first so he goes out anbd buys himself a big cowboy hat (???) and a button with the Patti Smith song n it. It said "Rock'n Roll Nigger". And he insisted on wearing it everywhere. Everywhere I went too! LOL I would tell him "Take that f*cking button off! You have no idea what you are doing". And he would say "But it is a song; everyone knows that.." He just didn't see it. we almost got our ass kicked a few times.

yes..Eddie 'Biff' @#$%& was a little known Austrian boxer in the 1920's. His older brother liked a fight too...

I recall seeing a couple of cds by a band called "Elvis @#$%&" at Tower Records a few years back.

That's not true, regarding the name @#$%&. other varieties don't really count, imo.
many families who had the misfortune to have such a name, changed it.
one poor guy in the media, I think he was from africa, had to jump through hoops though to change his name.
