i think it's fair to say that mick took a lot of what became his basic vocal style directly from Don Covay...and probably very consciously so...
more like Mick sounds like Don...in a way...

i would even make the case that don covay is to mick
as chuck berry is to keith...that direct a connection, especially in the early goings...

i don't think van sounds like mick...but van with Them, like the Stones, were really very much more directly hard blues based than most of their contemporaries...
i think van based his style and sound around ray charles as much as he could, but i think all here mentioned have their own distinctiveness.

i dunno who sounds like mick these days...mick himself has so many voices and sounds when you think of it...

His brother Chris. Listen to the early interviews and his first album, early in the 1970s. He sounds amazingly like his Big Brother....

The two meter tall Hungarian giant Lászlo Földes from Hobo Blues Band,
nowadays plainly called "Hobo" doesnt sound like Mick, but has got
the same attitude and that whats count imho. His music is
closely related to the Stones'.

Franz Beckerlee was great! I remember a guitar solo from their live album where he´s really bending those strings...beautiful. I think it´s on Hva' gør vi nu, lille du´.

For example Rabalderstraede...
You dont have the Live In Tivoli 1978?

Have you heard the coloured vinyl (what elsegrinning smiley) #12
maxi version of Bob-Shi-Bam... There I find Beckerlee's
barbed wire-style at its peak.

My Kids alway's think if I play a record of The Them (Van the man) they ask are these the Rolling Stones.

For me they are totaly different, maybe some songs have the same sound/fibe.

For me there are no Jagger soundalikes, although I ones heard a song that sounds like Mick "I can't recall the song was it " Sad Cafe" or something like that ????
